Anatomy: Understanding the Building Blocks of Life

Anatomy is the branch of biology concerned with the identification and description of the structures of living beings. It encompasses various levels of organization, from cells and tissues to organs, organ systems, and whole organisms. Human Body Systems

The human body is composed of eleven major systems that work together to maintain life:

Urinary System: Filters waste products and excess fluids from the blood stream, excreting them as urine.
Reproductive System: Sexual reproduction occurs through the interaction of male and female reproductive structures and their functions.
Integumentary System: The largest organ system, the integumentary system protects the body from external harm through skin, hair, nails, and various glands that secrete substances like sweat and oil.

Microscopic Anatomy

Microscopic anatomy, also known as histology, focuses on the study of cells and tissues of living beings at microscopic levels. This includes understanding cell structure and function, which is essential for diagnosing diseases like cancer by examining tissue samples under microscopes. Histological techniques such as sectioning and staining are applied to visualize these structures more accurately and identify potential abnormalities.
