The Neck
- The neck is a cylinder-shaped organ that connects the head to the trunk.
- It contains 7 cervical vertebrae, which provide mobility to the neck.
- Important organs, large blood vessels, and nerves are located in front of the cervical vertebrae.
The Trunk
- The trunk is the most corpulent part of the body, composed of three parts: thorax, abdomen, and pelvis.
- Each part has a cavity named after it: thoracic, abdominal, and pelvic cavities, respectively.
The Thorax
- The thorax is located in the upper part of the trunk, over the soft abdominal wall.
- It extends from the neck to the diaphragm.
- The front side of the thorax is known as the chest, and the rear side is known as the back.
The Chest
- The breasts, which are mammary glands, are located on the superior surface of the chest.
- The nipples, encircled with areolas, are in the center of the breast.
The Back
