The American Civil War
- The American Civil War was fought from April 12, 1861, to May 9, 1865, between the Union (believing in freedom for slaves) and the Confederacy (believing in slavery).

Fort Sumter
- Fort Sumter was the location of the first shots of the Civil War, fired on April 11, 1861, after Lincoln attempted to resupply the fort, which was in a Confederate state.
- The Confederate General was behind the plan of attack on the fort, and the battle ended the next day with the Confederates winning Fort Sumter.
Anaconda Plan
