Study Notes

Airplane Leveling

  • All configurations of the airplane are provided with a means for longitudinal and lateral leveling.
  • The airplane can be leveled on jacks, during weighing, or while the wheels are on the ground.
  • Lateral leveling should be performed before longitudinal leveling.
  • To laterally level the airplane, place a spirit level across the baggage compartment floor along the rear bulkhead. Deflate the tire on the high side of the airplane or adjust the jacks until the bubble of the level is centered.
  • To longitudinally level the airplane, partially withdraw the two leveling screws located below the left front side window. Place a spirit level on these screw heads and deflate the nose wheel tire or adjust the jacks until the bubble of the level is centered.
