The Type Certification Process

  • The EASA type certification process is established by point 21.A.14, which sets the technical level of the applicant with alleviations for the certification of ELA1 and ELA2 aircraft.

The Requirements

  • According to EASA Part 21, 21.A.14 requires an organization applying for a type certificate to demonstrate its capability by holding a design organization approval.
  • The engine or propeller installed in the aircraft must have a type certificate issued or determined in accordance with the regulation.

The Type Certification Procedure
