- Aircraft recognition is essential to identify aircraft during both peace and war times.
- It helps to identify the type of aircraft possessed by the enemy and assess their strength.
- It also helps to prepare for self-defense.
Methods of Aircraft Recognition
- Wing position: High wing, Low mid wing, Shoulder wing, Low wing, Mid wing, and Parasol wing.
- Shape of canopy: Inline, Submerged, Teardrop, Glasshouse, and Bubble.
- Shape of fins and tail plane: High tail plane, Low mid tail plane, High mid tail plane, Mid tail plane, and Low tail plane.
- Shape of wing tips.
- Markings: GREEN WHITE SAFFRON FIGHTER AIRCRAFT.
Fighter Aircraft
- SU-30 MKI: Twin seater, twin engine, multirole fighter, Russian origin, max speed 2500 km/hr (Mach 2.35).
