Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection

Maintenance Record Requirements
- A person installing a product, part, or appliance on a type-certificated product must make certain that the item's records document what type of statement.
- The record must include the dates of all maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations.
- The record must also include the total time-in-service of the airframe.
Annual or 100-Hour Inspection
- Each person performing an annual or 100-hour inspection shall use a checklist that contains at least those items in the appendix of 14CFR Part 43.
- After completing the inspection, the mechanic must make the proper entries in the aircraft's maintenance record.
Powerplant Major Alterations
- Disassembly of a float-type carburetor is not considered a powerplant major alteration.
