Suspected Contamination
- In case of suspected contamination of a SCBA air cylinder, specific measures must be taken, including consulting the Program Administrator (PA) or on-call Division Commander.
- A cylinder air dump is required if contaminated air is found or suspected in an air cylinder, especially after recent compressor station/air light refilling.
- A localized dump is possible if specific cylinders can be traced to a specific compressor.
- The PA or on-call Division Commander must be consulted before initiating a cylinder air dump.
- Each cylinder air dump must be controlled at a rate not exceeding 2,070 kPa (300 psi) per minute, with a residual pressure of 690 kPa (100 psi) maintained in each cylinder unless instructed otherwise.

- SCBA users need to understand potential problems when using SCBA in cold weather operations and know how to address them.

Reporting
