Aerodrome Certification
- An aerodrome can only be operated by a person who holds a valid certificate issued by CAAP for that aerodrome if it is used for international air transport operation or plans to have international air transport operations.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be the owner of the aerodrome site or have obtained permission from the owner to use the site as an aerodrome.
Certification Process
- The CAAP aerodrome certification process only addresses aviation safety aspects of the aerodrome.
- The applicant is responsible for ensuring compliance with other national, provincial, and local statutory requirements.
Aerodrome Manual
- The aerodrome operator must prepare an Aerodrome Manual in accordance with CAR-Aerodromes 2.2.065 before submitting an application.
- The Aerodrome Manual must meet the format and content specifications set out in MOS Appendix 1.
Application and Submission
- The initial application must be made on the form attached at MOS Appendix 2.
- The completed form shall be submitted to the Director General, CAAP Manila, together with a copy of the Aerodrome Manual.
Processing an Aerodrome Certificate Application
- Applications shall be submitted in sufficient time to allow for detailed consideration and inspection of the aerodrome before the desired date of issue of the certificate.
- The applicant must provide engineering and survey reports of the physical characteristics of the movement area, pavement strength and surface, obstacle limitation surfaces, etc., as required by CAAP.
