- An inmate will be placed into administrative confinement when classification unit staff determines that the inmate needs to be kept separate from the general population.
- The inmate's name, date and time of confinement, pod and cell location, and reason for confinement will be documented on the Inmate Confinement / Observation Log (JFCN-014).
- Deputies will see and talk to the inmate at least twice per shift and will document the inmate's general condition and attitude at least once per shift.
- Medical staff will sign and notate the time of any interaction with the inmate.
- At the end of the shift, the Inmate Confinement / Observation Form (JFCN-014) will be signed by the deputy conducting the observations and forwarded to the wing supervisor for review. The on duty shift commander will review the originals before forwarding them to the Classification Unit for placement into the inmate's file.
