Types of Salivary Glands
- There are three major types of salivary glands: sublingual, submandibular, and parotid.
Sublingual Glands
- Located below either side of the tongue under the floor of the mouth.
- Produce saliva that enters the mouth from under the tongue.
Submandibular Glands
- Located below the jaw.
- Consist of two parts: superficial lobe and deep lobe.
- Produce saliva that enters the mouth from under the tongue.
Parotid Glands
- Located just in front of the ears.
- Consist of two parts: superficial and deep.
