Nomad Internet Modem Setup Guide

• Unpacking: Carefully open the package, remove all items (modem, power adapter, Ethernet cable, antennas, SIM card, quick start guide), and check for completeness and damage. Contact support if anything is missing or damaged.

Physical Setup

• Power adapter: Connect the power adapter to the modem's power port and an electrical outlet.
• Power on: Press the power button if needed.
• Boot-up: Wait for a few minutes for modem startup, monitoring indicator lights (check quick start guide).

Positioning for Optimal Performance

• Central Location: Place the modem in a central location for even Wi-Fi coverage, avoiding corners and ends.
• Elevation: Put on a high shelf or wall mount. Placement in a window is best!
• Obstructions: Keep away from thick walls, metal objects, large furniture, and cabinets.
• Interference: Avoid placing near electronic devices like microwaves, cordless phones, baby monitors, or cell boosters.
• Line of sight: Put in an area to see most use spots; this improves the signal.
• Antenna Adjustments: If applicable, adjust antennas for improved coverage, especially in multi-story homes.
• Testing: Try various locations to find the best signal strength and fastest speeds.

Activation

• Access Activation Page: Open a web browser and navigate to (or scan the QR code).
• Account Information: Provide order email and order number.
• Modem Details: Enter the modem's IMEI number.
• Service Plan: Select your plan and add-ons (if any).
• Complete Activation: Review, click "Activate" and wait for a confirmation.
• Reboot: The modem needs to reboot after activation. Wait for at least 2 (hrs) for the modem to lock onto the signal.
• Remote Activation: Note Nomad may remotely activate.

Connecting to the Modem

• Wi-Fi Network: Locate the SSID (network name) and password on the modem (or packaging).

• Ethernet Connection: Connect wired devices (desktops, consoles) with an Ethernet cable to a LAN port.
• Internet Test: Open a browser and test the connection.
