Course Overview

• Focus on social, political, and economic events of the Western Hemisphere up to the early 20th century.
• Geographic scope: United States, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, South America.

• Online tasks will be completed via Canvas platform.

Grading System

• Grading Scale:
  • A = 90-100%, B = 80-89%, C = 70-79%, D = 60-69%, F = 50-59%.
• Semester grades calculated from two quarter grades (45% each) and a semester final/project (10%).
• Assessment Types:
  • Formative Assessments: 20%
  • Summative Assessments: 80%

Citizenship Grades

• Issued quarterly based on behavior and preparedness.

Behavior Expectations

• Academic dishonesty results in assignment collection and parent notification; repeated offenses may require a parent conference.
• Plagiarism is defined as the use of another’s work without proper acknowledgment and is treated as academic dishonesty.
