SPREADSHEET SOFTWARE Lesson 3 SPREADSHEET SOFTWARE Spreadsheet software allows you to do projects that require repetitive calculations such as budgeting and tracking your money spending. It is useful for what-if analysis. SPREADSHEET SOFTWARE It also generates various graphs and charts based on the data in your spreadsheet. Lastly, it has tools to create electronic worksheets. A worksheet is composed of columns and rows. EXAMPLES OF SPREADSHEET SOFTWARE Microsoft Excel enables users to format, organize and calculate data in a spreadsheet. By organizing data using software like Excel, data analysts and other users can make information easier to view as data is added or changed. Excel contains a large number of boxes called cells that are ordered in rows and columns. EXAMPLES OF SPREADSHEET SOFTWARE OpenOffice Calc is the spreadsheet part of the OpenOffice software package. Calc is similar to Microsoft Excel, with almost the same abilities. Calc is capable of opening and saving spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel's file format. EXAMPLES OF SPREADSHEET SOFTWARE Google Sheets is a spreadsheet application and part of the free, web-based Google Docs Editors suite offered by Google. Google Sheets is available as a web application; a mobile app for: Android, iOS, and as a desktop application on Google's Chrome OS. The app is compatible with Microsoft Excel file formats. This modifies a cell range's look according to a condition or set of criteria. To draw attention to cells that have values that satisfy a specific requirement, you can utilize conditional formatting. Alternatively, you can format a range of cells and change the format exactly when the value of each cell changes. This is the step-by-step process of using Conditional Formatting function in Microsoft Excel; Select the range of cells, the table, or the whole sheet that you want to apply Conditional Formatting to. Click conditional Formatting in the Home tab. 3. Point to Highlight Cells Rules, and then click Text That Contains. 4. Type the text that you want to highlight, and then click OK. 2. DATA ANALYSIS Data analysis is a feature in a spreadsheet that enables you to better understand your data by using natural language queries to ask questions about your data without the need to create complex algorithms. It can also do high - level visual summaries, trends, and patterns. You will utilize a spreadsheet model for data analysis in order to investigate several options. One term for models is "what-if" scenarios. 2. DATA ANALYSIS You will utilize a spreadsheet model for data analysis in order to investigate several options.
