In doing so, he avoids a chaotic scenario of vehicles crisscrossing without regard for other motorists and accidents that may ensue. 2. A town crier in kingdoms of old would go around villages reading edicts from monarchs to their subjects. These edicts are then followed by the villagers as a sign of loyalty and obedience to the king or queen. **Communication Strategy**- is a well-planned series of actions aimed at achieving certain objectives through the use of communication methods, techniques, and approaches. **Tips in formulating communication strategies:** 1. Set clear and attainable goals 2. Focus on the issue, if any, not on people 3. Be flexible and open minded 4. Be a critical listener 5. Demonstrate sensitivity at all times 6. Allow for give and take. Let the other party state what is in his or her mind. 7. Be genuine, honest, and open 8. Use affirming responses 9. Be reasonable **Example**: The president of the country needs to discuss to his constituents the aspects of a pressing issue or concern. **Strategies**: 1. Direct Public Addresses- delivering a televised speech or a live event to address the nation. 2. Social media engagement- utilizing social media platform to reach a broader audience 3. Press Conference: holding press conferences to directly address questions from journalist and provide information to the public. 4. Clear and concise messaging- distilling complex information into simple, understandable language to ensure comprehension by the public. 5. Framing the issue- presenting the concern in a way that resonates with the public\'s values and priorities. **Activity:** 1. You and two of your colleagues are communication specialists tasked by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to come up with strategies on how to disseminate to the public traffic rules and regulations as well as their corresponding punishment under the law.
