Term Mean Lymphadenopathy Swelling or enlargement of the lymph nodes. Lymphoma A type of cancer that starts in the lymphatic system. Lymphadenitis Inflammation of the lymph nodes, often due to infection. Lymphangioma A benign tumor made up of lymphatic vessels. Lymphocytosis An increase in the number of lymphocytes in the blood. Lymphedema Swelling caused by a buildup of lymph fluid, usually in the arms or legs. Lymphadenectomy The surgical removal of lymph nodes.
