Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) is a term that refers to the knowledge assets that have developed in India over time. It includes a variety of areas, such as mathematics, science and technology, medicine, astronomy, architecture, philosophy, arts, languages, literature, cultural and social practices, and traditions. IKS has its own methods, criteria, and corpus for generating, validating, and spreading knowledge.  The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020) emphasizes the importance of IKS for the holistic development of students. The policy aims to provide students with traditional knowledge about medicine, mindfulness practices, and heritage, so that they can understand the importance of IKS fields for their wellbeing and professional development.  The Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) is a broad term that encompasses the knowledge assets that have developed in India, including science, technology, mathematics, medicine, architecture, philosophy, arts, languages, literature, and cultural and social practices. The IKS has its own methods, criteria, and corpus for generating, validating, and spreading knowledge. It has evolved from experience, observation, experimentation, and rigorous analysis, and has influenced education, arts, administration, law, justice, health, manufacturing, and commerce.  Purpose of IKS IKS can be broadly defined as the knowledge and practices that an indigenous (local) community develop over generations of living in a particular environment. This includes all forms of knowledge, know-how, skills, practices and beliefs that enable a community to achieve stable livelihoods in their environment.  भारतीय ज्ञान प्रणाली (IKS), कं वा भारतीय ज्ञान परं परा वभाग, हा भारत सरकारच्या शक्षण मंत्रालयाचा एक वभाग आहे जो स्वदे शी भारतीय ज्ञान प्रणालींना प्रोत्साहन दे तो. ऑक्टोबर 2020 मध्ये स्था पत, ते नवी दल्लीतील AICTE मुख्यालयात आहे. The IKS is also the name of an innovative cell under the Ministry of Education (MoE) at AICTE, New Delhi. The cell's mission is to promote interdisciplinary research on all aspects of the IKS, and to preserve and spread it for further research and societal applications. The IKS focuses on areas such as arts and literature, agriculture, basic sciences, engineering and technology, architecture, management, and economics. IKS includes Jnan, Vignan, and Jeevan Darshan, which have evolved from experience, observation, experimentation, and analysis.
