R. 7. Title Bar: The Coloured Bar That Lies in the Middle, and At The Top Of The Window. The Title Bar Tells You, (Shows) The Title (Name) Of The Application Program And The Title Of The Opened Document. NOTE1: The Default Name When First Opening The Program, The Title Bar Will Say Document1, After You Savethe Document Is Stored Under A New Name, This New Name Appears On The Document. NOTE2: Also, Title Bar Contains Three Keys To Control The Document. 1. This Icon Is Used To Close The Document When You Left-Click On It (One Of The Ways TO Close The Document), Then The Following Window Will Appear: A. Save, Used To Close Documents With Save The Changes Made To Them. B. Don’t Save, Used To Close Documents, With Don't Save The Changes Made To Them. C. This Icon Is Used To Zoom And Zoom Out The Window. 3. This Icon Is Used To Show And Hide The Window (Working Document). 8. Quick Access Toolbar: You will find this bar just above the File tab, at the top left of the window, Contains buttons (icons) for common commands. and its purpose is to add the commands group most frequently used in MS. Word with one click instead of a group of steps. By default, it shows that there are only three commands on the quick-access toolbar (Save, Undo, and Repeat). but these can be edited, add other commands to make it more convenient for you. Undoing and Redoing: Click on the Undo button in the Quick Access Toolbar to go back one step (up to 25). Click on the Redo button in the Quick Access Toolbar to go forward one step (up to 25). To add commands to the quick access toolbar: 1. R. To remove (any tool) commands to the quick access toolbar: 1. right-click, on the arrow in the drop-down 2. choose to remove it from the list that drop-down, in the Quick Access toolbar. 9. Status Bar: is located at the bottom of the MS. Word window on the left side and gives you important information about where you are currently in a document is currently. as well as the insertion point location, It Displays the page and section numbers, the current and total page count and words in the document, language, and the line number and column number. NOTE: You can configure the status bar by right-clicking anywhere on it and by selecting or deselecting options from the provided list. 10. The Keyboard: You can divide the keys on the keyboard into several groups based on the function 1. type (alphanumeric) keys: These keys include the same letter, number, punctuation, and symbol keys found on a keyboard. 2. R. 3. Function keys: are used to perform certain tasks, For example F1, F2, and F12. 4. Navigation keys: These keys are used to navigate documents or web pages and texts. These include the arrow keys, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, Delete, and Insert. 5. numeric keypad: The numeric keypad is easy to use for entering numbers quickly. The following image shows how these keys are arranged on a typical keyboard: The following are important keys that have special functions in MS. Word program: 1. Enter: This key is used to it begins a new line and Moves cursor down one line (beginning of the next line) In any dialog box. 2. Shift: This key, when pressed With another key, will perform a secondary function for example, Hold the Shift key with any letter to type an uppercase letter, or Hold Shift together with another key to type the symbol on top of that key. 3.Control (Ctrl): This key, when pressed With another key, performs as a keyboard shortcut. Pressing the Ctrl key by itself doesn't do anything in most programs, but in computer games, it's often used to crouch. 4. Alt: Alt stands for "Alternate Key" acts as a modifier, altering the behavior of the subsequent key you press. For example, pressing Alt + F4 simultaneously in many programs allows you to close the current window or application. 5. Spacebar: This key is used to enter one space between words as you type every time you press it, and used to move the cursor to the right (forward). 6. Tab: This key is used to Move the cursor several spaces forward 5" or jump forward 10 spaces, or to move to the next text box on a form. 9. Esc: This key is used to Exit floating shapes navigation and return to normal navigation, or Cancel the current task. 10. Backspace: This key is used to delete to the left. Ctrl + Backspace: deletes the whole word immediately to the left of the insertion point. 11. Delete: This key is used to delete to the right. Ctrl+ Delete: deletes the word immediately to the right of the insertion point. Quick Navigation Keys: 1. Home: To move to the beginning of the line. 2. End: To move to the end of the line. 3. Right arrow: Right one character. 4. Left arrow: Left one character. 5. Down arrow: To the next line. 6. Up arrow: To the previous line. 7. Page Down: To the next page. 8. Page Up: To the previous page. 9. Ctrl+ right arrow: To the beginning of the next word. 10. Ctrl+ left arrow: To the beginning of the previous word. 11. Ctrl+ End: To the end of the document. 12.
