Medical Microbiology Medical microbiology is the study of microorganisms causing infectious diseases of humans and the human reactions to such infections. Microorganisms that cause infectious diseases are organisms too small to be seen with the naked eye. These exist as single cells (unicellular) or in cell clusters (multicellular). They include some eukaryotes, prokaryotes, viruses and prions. Classification of microorganisms Eukaryotes: fungi, algae, protozoa, helminthes, human and animal cells.
