Unidad 15 Resumen gramatical 15-1 Past participles used as adjectives Past participles are formed from verbs, just like in English. They are commonly used as adjectives modifying nouns. To form the past participle in Spanish, follow these steps. 1. Take off the infinitive -ar, -er, or -ir ending. 2. Add the appropriate participle ending, depending on the verb type: 3. Modify the resulting form as needed to agree in gender (-o or -a) and number (-s) with the noun you are modifying. Remember that some verbs have irregular participle forms, which you will need to memorize. These forms also need to agree in gender and number with the noun they’re modifying. Hecho en México. Made in Mexico. Una hamburguesa muy hecha. A burger well done. LingroLearning www.lingrolearning.com For more information contact LingroLearning at [email protected] 1
