Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities Session: 2024-25 Semester: 1st Section: A Subject Code: BEE-101 Subject Name: Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering Assignment-2 1. A 120V, 650 watt lamp is to be connected to a 230V 50 Hz ac supply. What value of pure inductance should be connected in series in order that lamp is run on the rated voltage? 2. Given v = 200 sin 314t volt and i = 10 sin (314t - 380) ampere for an ac circuit. Determine a) resistance and reactance b) power factor c) draw power triangle and find its value. 3. Derive an expression for resonant frequency and Q factor for parallel RLC circuit. 4. Derive the relationship between line voltage & phase voltage in a 3 phase star connected circuits? A three phase, 400V supply is connected to a 3-phase star connected load. The line current is 20A and the power consumed by the load is 12 kW. Calculate the impedance of the load, power factor and KVAR. 5. Two impedances Z1 = 6 + j8Ω and Z2 = 6 – j12Ω are connected in parallel is connected to 200 V, 50 Hz ac supply. Calculate (i) admittance of each branch (ii) power factor of the circuit and (iii) current drawn by each load. ….... xxxx…….
