Demonstration ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS5 WORKFACE MENU BAR Displays the main commands of Adobe Photoshop. OPTIONS BAR Displays the controls and settings of the selected tool in the tools panel. Whenever you select a tool, the contents of options bar change DOCUMENT NAME Displays the name, color mode, and magnification of the open file or image. TOOLS PANEL Displays the different tools or icons that are used to modify or edit the image. PANEL Small windows that allow you to access common commands. They can be moved anywhere within the window. PANEL DOCK The location where panels can be stacked together to allow a full view of the image CANVAS Displays the image or Photoshop file that you have opened. STATUS BAR Displays the magnification and image information of the image or file. WORKSPACE The arrangement of tools and panels for a particular job, task or design work. Tools Panel ADOBE PHOTOSHOP TOOLS ADOBE PHOTOSHOP TOOLS The tools panel is divided into 4 groups. But, higher versions have 5 groups. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP TOOLS Selection Tools These are the tools in selecting an image, objects or a part of the image ADOBE PHOTOSHOP TOOLS Alteration Tools These are tools used in correcting, changing, enhancing and erasing an image or some parts of the image. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP TOOLS Drawing and Type Tools These tools are used to draw lines and shapes, type texts, select and change paths. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP TOOLS Assisting Tools These tools are used to help in navigating the image under edition. WORKING WITH YOUR PANELS THE PANEL DOCK To see the all the panels: Go to Menu Bar > Click Window > Select the panel you want to use THE PANEL DOCK Collapsing the Panel: Click to convert the panel into icons THE PANEL DOCK Expanding the Panel: Click to show the options available. THE PANEL DOCK Closing the Panel: Go to the tab of the panel > Right-Click > Select Close THE PANEL DOCK Moving the Panel: Click and drag the tab of the panel to move it around THE PANEL DOCK Attaching the Panel to the Panel Dock: Click and drag the panel to the panel dock until blue line appears > Release the panel ACTIVITY: WORKING WITH PANELS WORKING WITH PANELS 1. Close all the panels in your panel dock. 2. Open and attach the following panels: Layers, Styles, Characters, Adjustments, History PERFORMANCE TASK #3 STARTING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP STARTING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 1. Close Adobe Photoshop. Close all open folders. 2. Go to other computer unit. 3. Open Adobe Photoshop on that computer. 4. Close all the panels. 5. Reopen the following panels and attach them on the panel dock: Layers, Styles, Characters, Adjustments 6. All the panels must be expanded.
