CHAPTER 5 CCRT Socially Acceptable Abnormal Reality Normalized reality (NR) Abnormal reality (ABR) Socially Acceptable Abnormal Reality (SAAR) Toxic Reality (TR) "True lordship follows the true God and is living, intelligent, andpowerful aside from the other perfections. He is supreme, or supremely perfect. He is eternal and infinite, omnipotent and omniscient; that is, He endures from eternity to eternity, and He is presentfrom infinity to infinity. He rules all things; He knows all things that happen or can happen." Sir Isaac Newton Absolute fact: There are 3 parts forming all human life and all life events. 1st Normalized Reality. Normalized reality in CCRT conforms to God's laws, will, eternal purpose, justice, morality and ethics. Ultimately Absolutely No normal reality exists outside of God's master plan. God's normal is normal. God is the ultimate measurement 50 CHAPTER 5 CCRT of normal emotions, family, relationships, work, and all the creations of His hand. Outside of God Abnormal exist and flourishes. Man's reality to be normal must exclusively be based on God the Father's will. Fallen man has been corrupted from birth thus abnormal. God's grace plan is about restoring each individual to normal. In original creation all hu- mans were perfect in conformity to God and His will. Upon sin, or abnormality, entered the world; all normality and abnormality is based on each individual's choices. 2nd Abnormal Reality. Reality Key: If there is normal reality, then there is an abnor- mal reality. Algebra teaches what you do to one side of the equation, you must balance on the other side of the equation. Normal is real and based on God's absolutes. Abnormal reality is any and all forces opposed to God's laws, eternal purpose, justice, morality and ethics. In the Christian vernacular, abnormal reality is understood as sin. The abnormal, toxic, unhealthy individual or relationship goes way beyond being com- plex and cannot nor will ever become healthy. Do not confuse managed and maintained abnormality with a cure. The alcoholic who only gets drunk on weekends is still a drunk. Dot the math. A man drinks to the point ofintoxication Friday and Saturday nights only. There are 52 weeks per year. This equals 104 days a year or 3.5 months each year. A third of the year is devoted to being drunk. Thinking abnormal and toxic relationships are normal is the same as calling sewer water yummy to drink. 3rd Socially Acceptable Abnormal Reality (SAAR) The third part is Socially Acceptable Abnormal Reality (SAAR). The military calls SAAR friendly fire. Friendly fire or non-hostile fire is a term originally adopted by the United States military. Friendly fire from allied or friendly forces, as opposed to fire coming from enemy forces. A friendly fire incident (fratricide) is when allied soldiers or their artillery, base camp, vehicles, etc. are attacked and damaged by friendly fire, may be deliberate or accidental (e.g., missing the enemy and hitting "friendlies"). (Webster's) In all normal, abnormal, and toxic relationships people exist in a systematic matrix car- ried out through all oflife and all life events. Life events cannot be separated from real life. This is not to be confused with man's self-ritualistic traditions. A primary of normalized 51 CHRIST CENTERED REALITY THERAPY FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY reality exists in the system called the family, one man one woman (married) and children. This is God's plan for normal. Abnormal reality exists in the system called the world and anything outside of nor- malized reality. Let's call it The World System. The world system is composed of a rational secular humanistic ideology. The Reality Key is understanding the anti-God matrix and system and how the world has been applying it to the destruction of the human race from the exodus ofthe garden. The abnormal reality of all individual and family life. Statistics teach a child of an alcoholic will become either an alcoholic or a code- pendent (enabler) if the toxic abnormality remains unchanged in the child's life events. *Codependency is just another sub-set of abnormality. It is not a primary condition) Abnormal reality is differentiated from socially acceptable abnormal reality. All ab- normality originated in relationships, but socially acceptable abnormal reality originated outside of individual relationships. SAAR is based on reframing individual belief systems in a corporate identification. Example: transforming a historical Christin German republic into a national cult of Nazism. It is interesting to note only about 20% of the people were actual members of the cult. All the other people fell into lock step out of fear. The same is true of the Russian communist party. In America today, we have seen the rise of the anti-God community in each and every aspect of life. One of the social gatekeepers leads the way in the 21st century abnormal toxic anti-God medical society. The medical organization which is the ultimate watchdog for mental health protection in the USA has been infiltrated with politically agenda driv- en individuals. This organization sets the benchmark for what your medical insurance can pay for on your behalf In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder. The American Psychological Association Council of Representatives followed in 1975. Thereafter, other major mental health organizations followed and it was finally declassified by the World Health Organization in 1990. 52 CHAPTER 5 CCRT Reality Key: understanding the toxic political agenda (World System): the study, which appeared in the review of the American Psychological Association (APA), concluded the effects of child sexual abuse may not always be harmful. The study conceded, sexual re- lations between children and adults generally "cause harm'' in young victims, leading to "severe or intense" side-effects with "an equivalently negative impact on both boys and girls." But "despite this widespread belief, the empirical evidence from college and nation- al samples suggests a more cautious approach," the study added. The North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), which advocates sex- ual relations between adults and "consenting" children, hailed the article as "good news" on its web site. "Pedophiles, including organizations such as NAMBLA, could use the study to deny 'consensual' sex with a child is 'child sex abuse'," the Family Research Council said, warning that sex offenders could use such a defense in court." The new 21st century toxic social norm for children and adults is sexual exploitation and is just part of life. If you are a woman, you should strive to be seen as a sexual object and treated as an object. If you are a man, you are to act as if a woman is only a sexual encounter Reality Key: Toxic predators who emotionally rape and sexually abuse children are also deeply toxic and mentally perplexed about what they want and what they need for the act of sex. Reality Key: Victim of the toxic predator: Toxic sex/abuse is extremely self-destruc- tive. Whatever else might have contributed, to using a child for sexual gratification is abnormal. Impact of child toxic sexual abuse will result in the victim child who then be- comes a predator and sexually abuse other children. "Monkey see monkey do." Porn is the sixth-largest industry in America. What we covet with our eyes we eventually act upon. Most adult sexual toxic predators were, at one time, victims of abuse. This is how they become strippers and porn stars. The 53 CHRIST CENTERED REALITY THERAPY FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY pattern of drugs and alcohol is used early and often as a child, teen and adult. The ex- pressed use of adult and child sexual pornography by both sexes leads to a reprogramming of the idea of sexual behavior. Many other factors lead to the acting out of a sex fantasy: intense stress, death, and depression (a leading factor). There are many contributing fac- tors to their giving in to their toxic sexual fantasies The sexual predators have transferred their normal relationships with a man/woman in a union to the toxic objects in their mind, and now have a new relationship. It is a fantasy anyone who is having sex with a computer image is not having an affair or a relationship outside of marriage. I was interviewing an 18-year-old girl for the book. She states she lived with her 19-year-old boyfriend who looked at porn all the time in their living room. He would masturbate to the other images of sex on the computer while she watched TV. I asked her if she had a problem with any of what. She said, "No, after all who is it hurting?" Reality key: Socially acceptable abnormal reality is the third leg of the stool. An indi- vidual who has his mind, body, and spirit directed or controlled by abnormal reality pro- duces abnormality. When abnormality becomes the majority of a social relationship or a culture, then it becomes socially acceptable; thus, it becomes specialized abnormal reality. It does not take an individual or a family to create a culture of socially acceptable abnor- mality. Toxic abnormality is a powerful force and is funded, philosophically supported, and financially paid for by the teachers, politicians and media deviants who practice the very abnormal toxic lifestyle themselves. A great deal of their support comes in the form of criticism of ethical and moral absolutes. "Feb 15, 2018 A Host, Joy Behar, of The T. V. show The View is under fire for criticizing Vice President Mike Pence and comparing his Christian faith to a mental illness. Behar and her co-hosts were discussing former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault's comments, VP. Pence says he talks to Jesus and believes Jesus speaks to him." 54 CHAPTER 5 CCRT Paul Writes, "1he person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness and cannot understand them because they are dis- cerned only through the Spirit." 1 Cor 2:14. An abnormal relationship is NO longer needed to reproduce individual abnormality in the SAAR effect. Hitler founded the ideology. The Nazis cult took on a life of its own reproducing little Nazis. Adolf Hitler molded Germany into his own twisted image. All abnormal demigods of SAAR live to reproduce cones. Luckily for posterity Hitler failed, but not before destroying the lives of millions of people. Ivan IV of Russia, also known as Ivan the Terrible, was the Grand Duke of Muscovy from 1533 to 1547, and was the first ruler of Russia to assume the title of Tsar. He was also a devout atheist.Joseph Stalin had 9 million or more people lined up and shot for not conforming to his cult. An additional 50 million killed in camps or just disappeared under Uncle Joe Stalin. One of the greatest tyrants of the 20th century and indeed any century. They built monuments to his evil and served him as a god out of fear. Nero brought the entire Roman Empire to the brink of collapse with his legendary excesses and cruelty. He also leaves a history of persecuting emperors who would light their gardens with human torches. Pol Pot responsible for the Killing Fields and Year Zero Pol Pot waged a gruesome war on his own population for not conforming to his ideas of a social normal. Torquemada tortured and burned thousands of innocent Spaniards and expelled Spain's Jewish population. Thomas De Torquemada was head of the Spanish inquisition and was renowned for his cruelty. He took pleasure in the pain of others who were conforming to his ideas of a religious normal. Vlad the Impaler is best known for the legends of the exceedingly cruel punishments he imposed during his reign and for serving as the primary inspiration for the vampire main character in popular Dracula novel. His also called anti normal to his social standard and political views. Anyone opposed was systematically murdered. 55 CHRIST CENTERED REALITY THERAPY FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY Each of these historical examples of social abnormality had followers who adopted their master's social abnormality. All cults, false, belief systems, have true believers. They group together and call the abnormal belief system normal. Good is exchanged for evil and called good by the followers. A common example of SAAR is found in the beer-joint of an alcoholic father where he drinks until he is drunk each day. The state laws protect the bar, the insurance protects the bar, the police officer which works security protects the bar, the men and women who are the patrons of the bar protect it, along with the bank, the strip center, the newspaper, radio advertisers, bartending schools, and ultimately the bar owner. All involved made the consumption of alcohol socially acceptable producing socially acceptable abnormal reality (SAAR). 98% of all alcoholic's report taking their first drink at home from one or more alcoholic parents or relatives. 76% of all alcoholics become addicted by attending socially accepted outreach centers called "Bar's or social gatherings." Even moonshiners gather at the still. Reality Key: Abnormal reality begins and ends with relationships. Socially acceptable abnormal reality is the BY-PRODUCT of abnormal relationships. Dealing with men whose primary symptom of abnormal reality is sexual visual ad- diction, the classical counselor's question was to ask, "Where is the stash of pornographic material." In the 1980's, I asked the question of a self-professed pornographic sex addict about his stash, he stated, "he did not have one". Assuming he was lying, after all how can you be hooked on visual material without the magazines? The client would go on to explain the internet and how this new media fed his ad- diction. I knew at this moment a new subset of the abnormal addiction was born. The internet Pornography has become the most Universally Socially Accessible Abnormal Addiction in the 21st Century! 56 CHAPTER 5 CCRT In the 21st century seventy-year-old ladies are addicted to pornography on the web. The same little old lady who would have never bought a pornographic magazine from the local stop & shop. Now in the privacy of her own home, she has become addicted to pornography. (Case study 1993) Reality Key: Abnormal toxic relationship is another description of sin. When abnor- mality becomes socially acceptable, it is no longer referred to as sin in society or the church. Many modern churches do not view homosexuality as sin. It is always Individuals who function and traffic in abnormal behavior. It is the world system and society which gives the hall pass for all abnormal behavior. The world system gives the alcoholic permis- sion to drive to the bar, but now the drunken individual driving home gets the DUI. Reality Key: Convergence is where abnormal reality and society meet. An individual who has grown up in a toxic abnormal family as an adult will experience true convergence of reality. The toxic abnormal is the only reality and has been defined as normal reality for the individual's life. Toxic relationships will always find, solicit, and engage in abnormal socially acceptable Abnormality. Reality Key: All abnormal reality begins as a natural, normal need. The abnormal real- ity perception is (he needs beer to feel good. The enforcer is the socially acceptable legal behavior and the friends and/or family who engage in the same social activity (all the drinking buddies). Alcoholics are easy to find due to the thousands of years of recorded history of alco- holic behavior which is socially acceptable abnormal reality. There is also an enormous amount of quantifiable research and statistical analysis about alcoholism. The following case study examines abnormal reality lived out in socially acceptable abnormal reality through everyday life events. Abnormal reality and socially acceptable 57 CHRIST CENTERED REALITY THERAPY FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY abnormal reality are found most frequently in common familiar life events. "Investigators say a woman accused of drunk driving had a case of beer buckled up safely in a child's car seat. Her baby is a one-year-old girl sitting in the backseat without a seatbelt or car seat. On Super Bowl Sunday, a deputy saw a car drive through a red light and swerve back and forth over the center lane on U.S. l South. The deputy stopped the car. Investigators stated the woman, who identified herself as Tina, smelled of alcohol. According to the report, she told the deputy she does not have a license and was running out of gas. The deputy saw a case of beer in the child's seat and a baby girl in the backseat. When asked why the girl wasn't restrained, Williams ~eportedly told the officer, "I don't know." Williams told the deputy she had a few drinks. Authorities say she staggered when she got out of her car. The deputy arrested her for DUI after she failed a field sobriety test. Authorities also found two silver metal pipes in her purse. William's faces charges of driv- ing under the influence, child endangerment, driving without a valid license, running a red light, and not having a seatbelt or child restraint." (ST. AUGUSTINE, FL, 2008) In Florida the laws prohibit drunk driving, but a person oflegal age may buy beer. The Super Bowl TV promoters sold beer advertisements at $2. 7 million per thirty second TV ad and promoted drinking. The woman who was arrested chose to buckle up the beer for safety and leave the one-year-old daughter in the backseat unrestrained and protected. Reality Key Idea: Socially Acceptable Abnormality Reality, promotes abnormal rela- tionships and provides opportunity to expand abnormal reality into other personal rela- tionships. The child (the one-year-old) not only was unprotected but will grow up in an environment of socially acceptable abnormality. Unfortunately, society condemns the action of the woman but refuses to address the primary source of the abnormality. Socially acceptable abnormality is always given a head nod by the general public. Until the rate and volume are beyond socially acceptable abnor- mal levels, only then is there a reaction by society. 58 CHAPTER 5 CCRT PhD. In Swim-ology a student may read every textbook on swimming, take every ad- vanced degree on the subject of swimming, and receive a doctorate in the art of swimming, but if he never jumps in the water, he will never learn how to swim. Knowing the mechanics and the technical program of swimming is only the educa- tional part. The physical action in the water permits the individual involvement in swim- ming. How well he swims will be based on ability and practice. KNOWLEDGE AND ACTION ARE NOT THE SAME THING. Reality Key: In Christ centered reality terminology, your rate and volume to which you engage in active knowledge will determine the ultimate result. Reality Key idea: The rate is determined by how often the action is engaged and the volume is the intensity of the action. It is like a radio. The rate is how often you turn the radio on and the volume controls how loud or soft you listen to the sound. Abnormal reality, like normal reality, has rate and volume. Socially acceptable abnor- mal reality has as its OPPOSITE socially acceptable normal reality. Consider a teacher who has a sexual relationship with a student. The environment of the school's ethically safe; the social rules and conventions are well known by both student and teacher. Yet this abnormal and destructive relationship does occur. The impact affects the individuals, perception of teachers, student body, school district and society at large. Laws, rules, knowledge and environment do not guarantee the absence of abnormal reality. Abnormal and Normal co-exist in the same society. The more tolerant the society is of abnormality the more acceptable, established and destructive it becomes. Jesus Teaches the Parable of the Abnormal "Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed (Normal) in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed abnormal seed among the (Normal) wheat and went away. When the (Normal) wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the 59 CHRIST CENTERED REALITY THERAPY FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY abnormal also appeared. "The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the abnormal come from?' ''.An enemy did this,' he replied. "The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?' "'No,' he answered, 'because while you are pulling the abnormal, you may uproot the (Normal) wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At the specific time, I will tell the harvesters: First collect the abnormal and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the (Normal)wheat and bring it into my barn. m (Matt 13:24-30 NIV) Notice God's natural order first removes the abnormal from the normal then the normal will flourish. 1he only way to cure abnormal reality is to immerse onese!f in normalized reality and stay there. Outside ofthe will ofGod exists a toxic abnormal world. Abnormal reality cannot exist within the will of God. The WILL of God is God in action in each individual life. Abnormal reality is contradictory to the direct will of God. An excellent thermometer for abnormal reality is to determine iflife events are being socially directed by abnormal reality as compared or opposed to the will of God. Knowing right from wrong is not the same as choosing to live in the will of God. Knowledge and action are two different things. Bubble gum spiritually speaking, this is Satan's game plan to create a foundational infrastructure of abnormal reality; then have people STEP IN IT. Have you ever been walking across a hot asphalt parking lot and stepped in bubblegum? It is impossible to remove from the bottom of your shoe. The best you can hope for is to collect enough dirt and rocks on the sticky gum so your shoe bottom stops sticking to the ground with every step. Next you get it on the floor and carpet. The gum cleanup process is often difficult and extremely nasty. Besides the fact it is someone else's gum. You are angry about the gum on the bottom of your shoe! Some son of a goat threw their gum on the hot asphalt. You pay the price for someone else's bad behavior. Socially acceptable abnormal reality affects everyone. Collateral damage and reinforced relationship abnormal reality is the effect of socially acceptable abnormal reality. 60 CHAPTER 5 CCRT All SAAR reality produces deviant reality. Examples include the very addictive and suggestive music, gang activity, bars, alcoholism, smoking, drug use, teenage sexual pro- miscuity thus teen pregnancy, homosexual activity, legalized marijuana, and HIV. All of the aforementioned SAAR produces abnormal reality which produces deviant abnormal reality is not socially acceptable. However politically correct you wish to be, these things are outside the will of God. They all produce social and individual hardship and harm. The cure for socially acceptable abnormal reality is changing environments. It is nec- essary and essential to change an individual's abnormal environment to a normalized environment. In English, you have to change the events and the environment. For the alcoholic, it is easier to stop going to the bar and drinking than to change the bar into a church. In Christ Centered Reality Therapy, mental illness and environment are treated sep- arately. The treatment plan and critical path in CCRT for treating mental illness and be- havioral issues is separate. Consider a mentally ill individual who is also an alcoholic. The mental illness and the addiction are treated separately and simultaneously. Under many current mental health plans, mental illness and addiction are treated with one modality. The treatments for the two are very different; it is absolutely necessary to treat both to achieve optimal results. Example: A patent in the ER with a broken leg and lung cancer; should both be treated? You would use different treatments, the healing time is different, and the outcome can be different. One hospital, but different caregivers and treatment. Menial health has lumped treatment in to one prescription. Reality Key: Abnormal reality creates convergence of environment and personal ab- normal reality. Mr. Ulebster writes, "Convergence is when two or more things come together to form a new whole, like the convergence of plum and apricot genes in the plucot. Convergence comes from the prefix con, meaning together, and the verb verge, which means to turn toward." This simple concept explains how we get into and stay in the problem areas of our lives. 61 CHRIST CENTERED REALITY THERAPY FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY Each and every identified problem should be treated separately and with equal inten- sity. The treatment for alcohol addiction is significantly different from the treatment for schizophrenia. It is essential to treat both conditions with an equal amount of respect. It is also essential to treat both conditions utilizing the mind, body, and spirit. Normalized reality can converge just as abnormal reality can converge. Environmental conditions are critical to the recovery effort and cure for both addiction and/or mental illness. The dominant condition must be treated first. It is determined by which condition is the greatest in volume and rate. If the mental illness is un-medicated and the client's hallucinations or behavior prohibit counseling or treatment, then group work for alcohol- ism would Not be the first protocol. The dominant abnormal life event is the first consid- eration in intake. In first aid medicine your first job is to stop the bleeding. Reality Key: Treatment should be driven by best practice for the client not what insur- ance will pay! A man seeking counseling for a pending divorce declares he is also an alcoholic. Then the greater need is the alcoholism undoubtedly created the abnormal reality for the pend- ing divorce. Is it the chicken or the egg? The answer is always the chicken. Even God created animals first and then came the offspring. Reality Key: Every time someone sins someone else pays the price. Socially accept- ed abnormality reality costs everyone. Every time abnormal reality breaks a law, normal reality is affected. After the 911 terrorist attacks, airport travel and commercial airlines changed forever. Every time a drunk driver kills someone on the highways, everyone's insurance cost is affected. Abnormal reality gives birth to collateral damage; this collateral damage destabilizes normalized reality. The Catholic Church has paid out so much money to the victims of 62 CHAPTER 5 CCRT sexual assault by priests now it is selling property, closing churches, and closing schools in neighborhoods which can least afford to lose these churches. Theola Labbe and Jacqueline L. Salmon of the Washington Post StaffWriters Saturday, September 8, 2007; Page A01 Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl is proposing to convert eight of the District's 28 Catholic schools into secular charter schools, saying the archdiocese can no longer afford to keep them open. Wuerl said his recommendation to strip the schools of their core religious identity and turn them over to a nonsectarian entity to be run as charter schools is the only way to avoid closing them and would continue the education of thousands oflow-income city children without the converted charter schools -- elementary schools in some of the city's poorest neighborhoods -- would receive operating and facilities funds from the District. They would remain in their buildings and pay rent to the parishes." Every time someone sins someone else pays the price. Socially accepted abnormal re- ality costs everyone. It causes chaos in the lives of everyone. Jesus had a lot to say about normal reality as it applies to the human condition, which is called need. John 10:1 - 5 "I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thiefand a robber! But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 1he gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recog- nize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his ownflock, he walks ahead ofthem, and theyfollow him because they know his voice. 1hey won'tfollow a stranger; they will run from him because they don't know his voice." The people listening to Jesus did not fully understand what He was teaching. Jesus tried using a simple idea of the day which everyone even today would understand. A person will not listen to Jesus. 1hen it is impossible for them to have their individual needs met! A boy walked into the blacksmith's shop. The boy watched the blacksmith hammer out a horseshoe and toss it into a bucket of water to cool. The blacksmith said to the boy, "Don't touch the horseshoe, it's still hot." When the blacksmith turned his back, the boy went over, picked up the horseshoe, and quickly dropped it with a yelp of pain. The blacksmith 63 CHRIST CENTERED REALITY THERAPY FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY turned and asked the boy, "You picked the horseshoe up and burned your hand, didn't you?"The boy replied, "Nope, it just doesn't take me long to look at a horseshoe."What is Chaos Theory? Chaos is the science of surprises, of the nonlinear and the unpredictable. It teaches us to expect the unexpected. While most traditional science deals with supposedly predictable phenomena like gravity, electricity, or chemical reactions, Chaos Theory deals with nonlinear things that are effectively impossible to predict or control, like turbulence, weather, the stock market, our brain states, and so on. Reality Key: How to reverse the reverse is also true. The more a person listens to Jesus, and the more they really hear Jesus, the more a person's core choices will be based on God's will. The more you listen to Jesus, the clearer His voice becomes. The decaying forces of pain of this world will no longer be the main life motivator. The Master Designer will conduct the concert of your life. Charles Spurgeon said, "Damnation comes from men simply not listening to the call of faith." The British terrorist Richard Colvin Reid (the Shoe Bomber) who attempted to deto- nate an explosive device packed into his shoes while on American Airlines Flight 63 from Paris to Miami on December 22, 2001. His actions forever changed the way we fly. Now security makes everyone take off their shoes for inspection. Flip Flop wearing flyers. Every time someone sins someone else pays the price. All people love to win, and everyone loves a winner. Everyone likes to make an 'N. on a test, win the big race, or win the family board game. Winning is a built-in part of the sur- vival need and registers with all four other needs. Your individual opportunity for success lies in each and every conversation you have with Jesus. Reality Key: His direction awaits your choice. The reality is you come away with a great sense of relief and assurance every time you pray. You will benefit greatly from personal prayer. If you do not come away from prayer with this assurance, then you need to realis- tically examine your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 64 CHAPTER 5 CCRT The world loves noise, and much of the world's noise is unmemorable static. Sometimes it seems like sin is followed by loud noises. Yelling, harsh words, arguments, cursing, devi- ant music, hate speak, abuse, and pornography are all things which make a lot of confusing noise. Try making your own noise list. Sin and destructive noise go together "like peas and carrots," to quote Forrest Gump. Spiritual success comes to those who turn off the world's sin noise and really listen to Jesus. Reality Key: Sin has a real voice, and it wants your exclusive focus. When you are actively listening to sin and the noise of this wicked world, then there is no way you can hear Jesus. Educational psychology's definition of active listening is listening focuses completely on what the other person is saying. The active listener then develops a clear understanding of both the content and the intent of the message. Sin's voice calls and keeps calling you; it will never give up! The voice wants you in its system of failed reality. Sin's voice is like running water; it is composed of many drops, but it all goes down the same drain. Sin knows your needs and always offers a seductive, false alternative. Sin always leads with a loud, emotional voice. Sin speaks to the ear of the mind, then the body, and finally to the Spirit. Sin knows how to get you to commit to the practice of sin. Unlike modern psychology, sin recognizes it needs you to be spiritually committed to really be successful. Getting you to reject the Father's Spiritual rules is the same as rejecting the Father. Reality Key: You cannot negotiate successfully at the table of sin. Sin's voice will make people go places and do things; God never intended! Sin's voice makes it possible to feel good while failing. Sin's opportunities are never God's will. His master plan or design is for your individ- ual success, not for your individual sin. First, you learn the language of sin. 65 CHRIST CENTERED REALITY THERAPY FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY The second step is speaking with the voices of sin. Next, you use the voice to teach others how to sin. You learn to cuss in school and then your younger brother learns from you. You are no longer just a bystander listening to the voice of sin, you have become a slave to sin's instructions. When sin's language is effortless, then sin has become the voice of your life. Sin's voice now defines you. The more sin exists within a person's life, the more a person's vision or future action is sin. When you plan to get drunk, you are scheduling sin openly and using all your resourc- es to facilitate the act of sin. You now have an open-door policy for all other sin to come in and join the party. You are relying on sin to meet your needs. Sin is now your master, not a servant. You bow at the pagan altar to have your wants met by sin. Unfortunately, you eventually discover the only needs met by sin are sin's own needs. The more personal sin applied to one's life, the more a person plans to sin. With more sin there is more men- tal, physical, and Spiritual poverty. Decay and sin go hand in hand. The world is decaying faster and faster, only man has technology implementing the message of decay worldwide. The internet has exponentially expanded life chaos and indoctrinated the world to sin as normal. I realized years ago this technology would become a whole new dragon to slay. Over the last few years, I visited with little old ladies and children who were as young as 6 years old who now watched pornography. People who would never go out and buy a magazine or an X-rated film were now hooked. 66 CHAPTER 5 CCRT HAPTER 5 - THE CORNERSTONE F THE FIVE REALITY CENTERS OF CONFLICT Study Guide Questions Directions: Answer the following study guide questions. Some of the questions are sub- jective and only based on your opinion. Utilizing the chapter text, answer in complete thoughts and concepts. Qyestion: Write in MLA format and one to three paragraphs in complete answers and thoughts. Each and every question must be answered in complete sentences, with sup- portive logic. 1. What are the 3 parts which form every life and all life events? 2. If there is normal reality, then there is abnormal reality. What you do to one side of the equation, you must balance on the other side of the equation. Abnormal reality is which is opposed to God's laws, eternal purpose, justice, morality and ethics. What are some of the things we do as individuals which foster these? 3. Describe Socially Acceptable Abnormal Reality (SAAR). Use examples for your own experience. 4.
