EDUC. 6 CLASS LET US PRAY. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. God, our Most loving Father, thank you for the gift of this moment that we are still able to continue our journey here on earth. As we begin our class, we ask Your Holy Spirit to hover upon us, to be our light, to be our guide, and to be our inspiration, and so we pray… Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth. O God, who by the Light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful. Grant that by the gift of the same Spirit, we may be always truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation, through Christ, our Lord, Amen! Lesson Outcomes At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: Integrate media and technology in various content areas; Used technology tools to collaborate and share among communities of practice; and Select materials designed to enhance teaching-learning. NON-DIGITAL AND DIGITAL SKILLS AND TOOLS IN DELIVERING TECHNOLOGY-ENHANCE LESSONS LESSON 1 DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF NON-DIGITAL OR CONVENTIONAL MATERIALS What is instructional material? Instructional materials are the supplementary materials, which help the teacher to make his/her presentation concrete, effective, interesting, meaningful and inspiring. Instructional materials are the tools used in educational lessons, which includes active learning and assessment. Basically, any resource a teacher uses to help him teach his students is an instructional material. (Study.Com, 2015) Factors to consider in developing instructional materials: 1. Develop a storyboard and working outline based on the subject goals and objectives. 2. Identify existing institutional resources including materials and teachers’ capability. 3. The teacher may research off the shelf materials that have been developed by others to determine if their approach could be useful. 4. Explore the possibility of adapting concepts of other teachers without infringing on anyone’s copy protected design. 5. Modify existing materials based on the objectives of the lesson. 6. If the instructional materials are effective, you can share them with other teachers. 7. The teacher developer can also sell his/her materials available.
