Veterinary Anatomy I: CVM 710: Fall 2023 025-Abdominal organs: liver, pancreas, spleen Dr. Ismael Concha-Albornoz [email protected] www.anato.cl Learning Objectives 1. Describe the liver: lobes, position, relationship with other organs. 2. Trace the flow of bile to/from the gallbladder via the hepatic ducts and/or cystic duct, and into the duodenum via the bile duct. 3. Define where the cystic duct becomes the bile duct and where the bile duct empties into the duodenum. 4. Describe the pancreas: lobes, position, relationship with other organs, pancreatic duct and accessory pancreatic duct 5. Identify the peritoneal attachment related with the different portions of the pancreas. 6. Describe the spleen: portions, position, relationship with other organs, splenic hilus. 7. Identify the peritoneal attachment and the relationship with the stomach.
