# Activist Stressors This document outlines various stressors faced by activists. ## External Stressors 1. **External stressors:** Events like police brutality, sexual assault, and arrest. 2. **MEES:** Mundane, extreme, and environmental factors contributing to stress. 3. **Unbending commitment to racial justice:** High stakes and moral urgency to compel activism. Leading to activists feeling a spiritual and ethical obligation to act against perceived injustices. ## Internal Activist Tensions 4. **Institutional and interpersonal resistance:** Setbacks and invalidations from colleagues leading to denial of racial issues.
