No. HQ-C-3019/2/2024-C-3 Staff Selection Commission ***** Subject: Declaration of Final Result of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical) Examination, 2024 The result of Paper-I of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical) Examination, 2024 was declared on 20.08.2024. Thereafter, Paper-II (Computer Based Examination) of the Examination was conducted on 06.11.2024. 2. Subsequently, a Notice No. HQ-C-3019/1/2024-C-3 dated 06.12.2024 was published on the website of the Commission, seeking ‘Option-cum-Preference’ from the candidates who had appeared in Paper-II of the Examination. Accordingly, Option-cum- Preference was obtained online from the candidates during the period from 09.12.2024 to 13.12.2024. 3. Representations received from the candidates with regard to the tentative Answer Keys of Paper-II of the Examination have been carefully examined and the Answer Keys have been modified wherever necessary. The Final Answer Keys have been used for evaluation accordingly. 4. As per the provision of the Notice of the Examination, marks scored by the candidates in both Paper-I and Paper-II have been used for determining the final merit and cut-off marks. As per the para 13.7 of the Notice, the marks of Paper-I were normalized by using the formula published by the Commission vide Notice No. 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07- 02-2019. 5. As per Para 13.8 of the Notice of the Examination, a few posts are common for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. As the engineering branches are different, different question papers were served to the candidates of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Because of altogether different disciplines/question papers, difficulty levels between the two question papers may vary. Accordingly, scores of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Paper-II of this Examination have been normalized with each other for determining the final merit and cut-off marks. 6. As per Para 18.1 of the Notice of the Examination, minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I and Paper-II of the Examination are as follows: (a) 30% (Paper-I- 60, Paper-II- 90) for UR (b) 25% (Paper-I- 50 Paper-II- 75) for OBC/EWS (c) 20% (Paper-I- 40, Paper-II- 60) for all other categories 7.
