WORKDAY ADVANCED REPORTING AND ANALYTICS ======================================== ----------------------------------- DESCRIPTION![](media/image82.jpg) ----------------------------------- CHAPTER 1 - BUILDING MATRIX REPORTS =================================== ---------- OVERVIEW ---------- Matrix reports are ly suited for. The main construct of a matrix involves: - Grouping instances of twe primary business object to define the initial summary matrix in row and column groupings. - Summarizing aggregations for each grouping. Printed by: rsanroman\@ferrovial.com. Printing is for personal, private use only. No part of this book may be reproduced or transmitted without publisheds prior permission. Violators will be prosecuted. - Drilling into the summarizations for further analysis. Report users can view tie data by other fields and access detail data behind the summarizations. ACTIVITY 1.1 - MATRIX REPORT EXAMPLES ===================================== 1. Sign in as Logan McNeil (Imcnei/) 2. Run the Resource Bench custom report (a report that counts Workers by Job Profile). 3. Filter the Job Profile column by Shipping & Receiving Associate 4. Hover over the Count number, select the Arrow next count value for the Job Profile, and view by Manager. 5. Notice the table displays how many workers to each manager. 6. Select the Arrow next to one of the worker count values and view by ManagemeRt Level. 7. Notice the table now displays the level of the workers. 8. Press the \[Esc\] key to dose pop-up window. A report may group com es by organization. In this the groupings are by: 1. 2. 3. 4. Printed by: rsanroman\@ferrovial.com. Printing is for personal, private use only. Define row and column groupings and configure how you want to summarize the primary business object for your report Row and column groupings are the starting summary matrix for the report. row grouping and one summarization. A grouping may be a single instance, text, Boolean, date, or numericfield. You may use nested levels by grouping more than one dimension. Column groupings are For each grouping, specify a sort option. By default. totals order). Alternatively, you can sort alphabetically, based on alogical sort, or based on a defined field value group. Matrix reports allow you to configure summarizations for your reports numeric or curiency data. The Summarization Type enables you to specify the aggregation method applied tethe field. The results of the aggregation method are displayed in the matrix cells of the report output. The default summarization type is Count. Summarization options include:![](media/image99.jpg) Term Definition ----------------- ------------------------------------------------------ Average Averages the values Of a field for defined grouping. Adds the values of a field for defined grouping. [Fields for Data Source] report or preview the field. Then. expand the Indexing Information section to determine if the system indexes a given field for Aggregation. If not, you will notice a performance alert (not error) in the report. Performance improves when indexed fields are at the top Of the group by list. ![](media/image102.jpg) using the Calculation summarization type enables you to perform calculations on summarized numbers and corresponding totals; You can compute and display ratios, percentages, and averages as they relate to summarized values. When you select the Calculation summarization type, chcnse an existing surnmary calculation for the report or create a new summary calculation for the report. ![](media/image105.jpg) OUTPUT FORMATTING OPTIONS The output of a matrix report is configurable. You can modify the formatting of rows and columns, as well as what to include when drilling into the details of the report output. ![](media/image108.jpg) - Number (\#) of trips for each airline and number of distinct workers - Lowest. highest, average, range of cost, and total airfare by airline - Rows for the top 10 most used airlines Printed by: rsanroman\@ferrovial.com.
