For this unit, you need to show an understanding of word processing. ==================================================================== For Tuesday 7th January, please complete the task 1 & 2 below: Task 3 we will continue on when we return. ========================================================================================================= **Task 1:** Research your chosen film franchise using internet search engines, e.g. Google and Live. To complete your report to inform a movie viewer of the success and attributes of the franchise you have chosen. You are required initially to find out general information about your film franchise, e.g. where did the idea come from, e.g. a book, what was the time line for the development of the films, what were the key themes explored in the films. You should plan your searches, considering how to find the information and make decisions about searches taking account of efficiency in terms of time, cost, effective filtering and outcome. ♦ You should conduct at least three documented searches. ♦ You should use at least two search engines for each search. ♦ Search one is for background information on the franchise you must include a \[screenshot\] print out of your search results. ♦ Search two is an image or multimedia search for the franchise, again you must include a \[screenshot\] print out of your search results. Complete your search planning checklist and attach your printouts. You will probably wish to carry out more searches in support of your assessment for example a search of for information about the movie franchise. Make sure you note any web site references in your bibliography. ♦ You should enter the data obtained into a Spreadsheet, name it yournamesales.xls. ♦ Print the Spreadsheet with the data. ♦ Choose two types of charts, e.g. bar and line and create and print the charts. ♦ Integrate the charts into your report in section 4. **Task 3 --- Production of report.** Your report will contain the following sections: 1. Introduction --- aims of task, reasons for your selection of the chosen franchise. 2. Background information and history of the franchise, this will contain the themes of the movies and the production time line. This section should include at least two images or graphics from picture handling software to illustrate the text*.* *200--400 words* 3. Selected character photos from the franchise with a short description of each character. This may also include any special effects as appropriate. This section should include images to illustrate the characters. At least one of the images should be cropped or enhanced using picture handling software. *100--300 words* 4. The financial and box office success of the franchise.
