UNPACKING THE SELF Physical Self – Main part of our identity - Concrete dimension, directly observed and examine - Tangible aspects Physical Feature – it includes face, bodily structure, and other physical characteristics of a person The Golden Ration – “divine proportion” is a mathematical ratio (approximately 1.618:1) that has been historically associated with aesthetic, beauty and harmony in nature and art. Norms of beauty and appearance are tied to the ideals of appearance and hard work. Compassion – which is to have a “sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others” Self-Compassion - Being kind to yourself - Being understanding and supportive even when things don’t go well or the way you planned Positive Self Talk – Turn negative talk into positive thoughts by considering how we would speak to a friend who was experiencing a problem. Kindness and Gratitude – we can explore compassion by practicing kindness and gratitude towards others.
