AMBAHAN AMBAHAN IS AN ANCIENT TYPE OF POETRY AMONG THE HANUNOO MANGYAN PEOPLE OF MINDORO, PHILIPPINES. IT CONSISTS OF SEVEN- SYLLABLE LINES AND IS COMMONLY WRITTEN IN THE SURAT MANGYAN SCRIPT, AN OLD SYLLABIC WRITING STYLE. UNLIKE THE HIGHYLY ORGANIZED TANAGA, THE AMBAHAN DOES NOT ADHERE TO A RIGID RHYME PATTERN, ALLOWING FOR MORE EXPRESSIVENESS.
