The complete story of MOSES 0:00 in the Bible there were many great 0:01 leaders and 0:03 Prophets but few have had the same 0:05 impact as the biblical figure Moses born 0:09 into a world of slavery and oppression 0:11 he rose to become a great 0:14 reformer but how did he become such a 0:17 significant figure what challenges did 0:20 he face and what can we learn from his 0:23 life this video will explore Moses's 0:25 life and the lessons we can take away 0:27 from his remarkable Journey 0:31 before exploring the early life of Moses 0:33 we must briefly revisit the Israelites 0:35 history into the land of Egypt and how 0:38 they found themselves in the land of the 0:40 Egyptians for better 0:42 context in the Book of Genesis the Bible 0:45 recorded that there was a Great Famine 0:47 in the land and God used a Hebrew man 0:50 named Joseph who was sold into slavery 0:53 by his brothers to liberate the land of 0:57 Egypt the Israelites then established 0:59 them eles in Egypt and in a show of 1:02 gratitude for what Joseph did for them 1:05 the Egyptians accepted the people of 1:06 Israel and treated them with respect but 1:10 long after Joseph's death the lives of 1:12 the Hebrews in Egypt started to 1:15 change God made Abraham's descendants to 1:18 become numerous and the Hebrew 1:20 population in Egypt proliferated they 1:22 began to gain strength in numbers and 1:24 influence in Egyptian Affairs when a new 1:27 Pharaoh sat on the throne one who knew 1:29 nothing about Joseph and was oblivious 1:31 to the debt of gratitude Egypt owed to 1:34 the people of Israel the lives of the 1:36 Hebrews changed 1:38 drastically noticing the rapid growth of 1:40 the Hebrew population and their thriving 1:43 nature as blessed people of God the 1:45 Pharaoh feared that if the growth of the 1:47 Israelites wasn't contained they could 1:50 pose a massive threat to the 1:52 Egyptians the Israelites were subjected 1:54 to slavery and were forced to undergo 1:56 degrading and complex tasks nonetheless 2:00 the people of Israel continued to 2:02 multiply just as God promised Abraham 2:06 Pharaoh then ordered the midwives of the 2:08 Israelites to kill the Hebrew Offspring 2:10 as soon as they were born but they 2:13 refused to obey such an order instead 2:16 when questioned about their decision to 2:18 disobey they stated that the Hebrew 2:20 women were blessed with such strength 2:23 that their babies were born before the 2:25 arrival of The Midwives that angered 2:27 pharaoh and in his rage he made made a 2:30 decree that every newborn male CH be 2:32 executed and thrown into the Nile and 2:35 that only the females be saved Terror 2:37 grew among the Israelites as the Hebrew 2:39 women witnessed their baby snatched from 2:42 them and executed in Cold Blood a woman 2:45 of the tribe of Levi attempted to hide 2:47 her son she was successful for 3 months 2:50 as she managed to dodge the pharaoh's 2:52 wrath but as the baby Grew Older it 2:55 became more challenging to keep the baby 2:57 hidden desperate to save her son's life 3:00 she put the baby in a basket covered him 3:03 with a seagrass blanket and let him sail 3:05 the Nile while she prayed to God for 3:08 Mercy guidance and protection for her 3:10 son and to deliver him from his fate God 3:14 listened to the Levi woman's prayers and 3:17 guided the basket towards the riverbank 3:19 where Pharaoh's daughter was bathing she 3:21 spotted the floating basket and ordered 3:24 her maid to retrieve it from the water 3:27 to her greatest surprise she found a 3:29 beautiful B baby boy inside not minding 3:32 that the child was a Hebrew Offspring 3:34 she adopted him and named him Moses 3:38 Moses grew and was among the highest 3:40 Egyptian nobility and was treated as 3:43 royalty the Egyptian princess needed a 3:45 nurse for the baby and to feed Moses a 3:49 Hebrew slave woman was brought and as 3:51 the will of God would have it it was 3:54 none other than his biological mother 3:56 among the princes of Egypt Moses lived a 3:59 life of luxury and privilege throughout 4:01 his childhood but he couldn't help but 4:03 feel an emptiness inside as an adult he 4:07 couldn't help himself anymore it was as 4:09 if something kept drawing him to his 4:11 roots he wanted to see how the Hebrews 4:14 were treated upon witnessing the 4:16 conditions in which his people were 4:18 living Moses was heartbroken in the book 4:21 of Exodus chapter 2 it states that Moses 4:24 witnessed an Egyptian Soldier brutally 4:26 assault a fellow Jew and he let his 4:29 anger get get the best of him in a fit 4:31 of rage he pounced on the Egyptian 4:34 Soldier and ended up killing him the 4:37 news of Moses's Dreadful crime quickly 4:39 spread and it came to the attention of 4:41 the Pharaoh who then ordered Moses's 4:44 arrest having no other option Moses had 4:47 to flee from the land as he was running 4:50 he came across a group of females trying 4:52 to hydrate their flock but a group of 4:54 Shepherds were stopping them from 4:55 reaching the well so Moses intervened on 4:58 behalf of the women 5:00 and allowed them to give water to their 5:02 animals the girls thanked Moses invited 5:05 him back home and introduced him to 5:07 their father telling him about what he 5:09 did for them in a show of gratitude the 5:12 girl's father invited Moses to live with 5:15 them and even offered one of his 5:16 daughters to him in marriage and Moses 5:19 settled in the middle midden land he and 5:21 his wife Zapora gave birth to a son and 5:24 live peacefully in their new home but 5:27 while Moses was busy settling down in a 5:29 foreign land and the Israelites 5:30 continued to suffer at the hands of the 5:33 Egyptians especially after introducing a 5:35 new pharaoh who was even more 5:37 challenging to them than his successors 5:40 the people of God cried out for help and 5:42 the Lord answered their prayers he 5:45 appeared to Moses in the form of a 5:47 burning bush on the mount HB and he 5:49 guided his flock as they grazed Moses 5:52 noticed the bush burning at the top of 5:54 the mountain but the Flames didn't 5:56 consume it intrigued by this Myster 5:59 mysterious occurrence Moses approached 6:01 the burning bush and heard the voice of 6:03 the Lord the Lord declared that he had 6:06 heard his people's cries and had come to 6:08 intervene and Moses would be the 6:10 instrument he used to deliver his people 6:13 from the hands of the 6:15 Egyptians initially Moses didn't buy 6:17 into the idea he was just a simple man 6:21 he couldn't imagine himself leading an 6:23 entire nation out of slavery but the 6:26 voice of the Lord commanded him to drop 6:28 his staff and it turned into a serpent 6:32 Moses was surprised but he wasn't afraid 6:35 after witnessing a talking burning bush 6:37 that didn't seem to be the most unusual 6:39 thing he came across that day the Lord 6:42 also commanded him to take the snake by 6:44 its tail and he didn't disobey as soon 6:47 as he grabbed it it turned back into his 6:50 staff that Miracle alone was enough to 6:53 convince Moses and show that God was 6:55 with them and that he had come to 6:57 liberate them but Moses still felt that 7:00 he wasn't up to the task and wasn't 7:02 fluent in speaking as Moses was known to 7:05 have a stutter but the Lord assured 7:07 Moses that he will always be with him 7:10 Moses with the help of his brother Aaron 7:13 was able to convince the Israelites that 7:15 the former Prince of Egypt was in fact 7:18 their god-sent Liberator they accepted 7:21 him as one of their own but the Pharaoh 7:23 wasn't as easily convinced Moses and 7:26 Aaron were able to score an audience 7:28 with pharaoh and they laay God's will to 7:30 him they ordered the pharaoh to Free 7:33 People of God but he proved stubborn 7:36 Moses dropped his staff and was 7:37 transformed into a serpent and the 7:39 Pharaoh ordered his priest to do the 7:41 same and with the help of their dark 7:43 magic they could transform their staff 7:45 into snakes too however Moses's snake 7:48 swallowed the two snakes that the priest 7:50 had conjured up Moses picked up his 7:52 snake and it turned back into his staff 7:56 before he made his exit he urged the 7:58 pharaoh to once again again let his 8:00 people go or else Egypt would feel the 8:04 wrath of God such a threat only angered 8:07 the Pharaoh and in retaliation he made 8:09 the lives of the Israelites even more 8:11 difficult the Lord ordered Moses to 8:14 return to pharaoh and demand the release 8:16 of his people knowing fully well that 8:18 the Pharaoh would still be stubborn so 8:21 Moses returned to pharaoh and demanded 8:23 the release of his people as the Pharaoh 8:26 refused again different calamities 8:28 plagued the land of Egypt these events 8:31 will later be known as the 10 plagues of 8:34 Egypt the 10 plagues were water turning 8:37 into blood plagues of frogs lice and 8:40 gats flies pestilence among livestock 8:43 boils hail and fire locusts Darkness 8:46 death of the firstborn Sons as the Bible 8:49 records the Israelites had been under 8:51 the Egyptian government for 400 years 8:53 before Moses's time all efforts to free 8:56 them seemed useless as the pharaoh's 8:58 heart was hardened and he wasn't willing 9:01 to bend to God's will as Moses commanded 9:04 at the time freeing the Israelites 9:06 seemed like an impossible task but God 9:09 was with Moses and Aaron and they would 9:11 be instruments that God used to fulfill 9:13 the promises he made to Abraham and his 9:16 descendants God instructed Moses to meet 9:19 the Pharaoh again this time he was 9:22 navigating the Nile in a Royal vessel 9:24 when Moses interrupted him asking once 9:27 again to free the people of God but 9:29 Pharaoh refused so Moses took his staff 9:32 and stabbed the river and it became as 9:34 red as blood all the creatures of the 9:37 water died a foul odor took over its 9:40 banks and the water became 9:43 unfit however Pharaoh wasn't still moved 9:46 by what Moses had done although the 9:48 Egyptians had to drill Wells to quench 9:51 their thirst they still used Hebrew 9:53 enslaved people to carry out those tasks 9:56 that was the first plague Pharaoh was 9:59 still unwilling to listen to Moses so 10:01 God struck Egypt with another plague he 10:04 causes countless Birds to emerge from 10:06 the Nile and invade Egypt every Egyptian 10:09 home was filled with frogs toads and all 10:12 sorts of amphibians not the palace was 10:15 safe even the bed of the Pharaoh was 10:17 swarmed with frogs Pharaoh then told 10:20 Moses that he would free the Israelites 10:22 if he made the frogs disappear so Moses 10:25 got rid of the frogs and when the plague 10:27 was over the Pharaoh decided to withdra 10:29 draw his initial statement and didn't 10:31 keep to his word God then caused the 10:34 Earth to bring out lice that infected 10:36 the people and animals in Egypt clouds 10:39 of flies covered the whole of Egypt but 10:41 the places where the Hebrews lived were 10:43 free of these plagues Pharaoh still 10:46 proved stubborn so God caused a sickness 10:49 to fall on Egypt one that killed every 10:51 animal and livestock that belonged to 10:53 the Egyptians Pharaoh's priests couldn't 10:56 replicate these features and 10:57 acknowledged that it could only be a 10:59 higher God backing Moses and his people 11:02 but the Pharaoh refused to listen to his 11:05 advisers more calamities continued to 11:07 befall Egypt as a result of the 11:10 stubbornness of the 11:13 Pharaoh heavy rain and lightning roared 11:16 throughout the land and people who 11:18 didn't take cover were either Swept Away 11:20 by the rain or struck dead by the 11:22 lightning from the clouds the swarm of 11:25 locust was the eighth plague that came 11:27 to Egypt and colonies of Loc s destroyed 11:30 everything that was in their paths 11:33 Pharaoh sensed that his stubbornness was 11:35 leading to the destruction of Egypt but 11:37 his pride wouldn't let him Bend to the 11:40 will of Moses and the Lord God who sent 11:42 him Egypt was now the victim of a total 11:46 eclipse for 3 days they lived in pure 11:49 Darkness this was the ninth plague but 11:52 the Lord was far from done with Egypt he 11:55 told Moses that he was about to be the 11:57 most Dreadful plague yet yet he was 12:00 going to unleash the spirit of death on 12:02 Egypt he stated that he would go to 12:05 Egypt at midnight and claim the lives of 12:07 all the firstborn sons of Egypt no 12:10 egyptian household was spared but the 12:12 people of Israel were unharmed Moses 12:16 according to the will of God had 12:18 instructed the Israelites to make 12:20 sacrifices to God and use the blood of 12:22 the sacrificed animals to Mark the doors 12:25 to the entrance of their houses so that 12:27 when the spirit of the Lord is moving 12:29 through Egypt at midnight he will pass 12:31 over any door that has been marked with 12:34 the blood of an animal at midnight God 12:37 sent the angel of death to Egypt who 12:39 went from door to door claiming the 12:42 lives of the firstborn 12:44 Sons sparing only the houses that were 12:47 marked entranced with 12:49 blood Pharaoh's son and heir to his 12:52 throne was among those who died and his 12:54 unrelenting will was broken he finally 12:57 gave in to Moses's request ordering him 12:59 and his people to leave Egypt the people 13:02 of Israel were free and through Moses 13:05 god LED them out of Egypt to the land 13:07 that he promised their 13:08 ancestors after enduring 430 Years of 13:12 Slavery the Lord came to the aid of his 13:14 people after imposing 10 terrible 13:17 plagues on Egypt Moses finally got the 13:19 pharaoh to free the Israelites under the 13:22 leadership of Moses who was led by God 13:24 and assisted by Aaron hundreds of 13:27 thousands of Hebrews took their 13:28 belongings and marched on to the 13:30 promised land the large colonies of 13:33 Israelites headed through the desert 13:35 because after the death of the pharaoh's 13:36 son they feared that he wouldn't let 13:39 them go as quickly as he did and they 13:42 were proper Pharaoh prepared armies and 13:45 chariots and began pursuit of the people 13:48 he had just let go God instructed Moses 13:51 to guide them to the shores of the Red 13:54 Sea the Israelites were stricken with 13:56 fear and some thought surrendering and 13:59 returning to their masters would be the 14:01 wiser option in contrast others blamed 14:04 Moses and accused him of bringing them 14:06 out there to die but Moses assured them 14:09 that God was at their side and that he 14:12 would not forsake them even now that 14:14 they needed him most the people of 14:17 Israel could see the Egyptian armies 14:19 from afar and the Pharaoh and his 14:21 soldiers were approaching quickly then 14:24 God instructed Moses to go to the shores 14:26 of the Red Sea and raise his staff and 14:29 he parted with the Red Sea allowing the 14:31 Israelites to walk on dry land this act 14:35 alone removed every doubt from the minds 14:37 of the Israelites reassuring them that 14:40 God was still on their side pharaoh and 14:43 his armies continued their Pursuit and 14:46 were hot on the trail of the Israelites 14:49 they even followed the dry path that 14:51 Moses had made through the Red Sea but 14:54 as soon as the last Hebrew had reached 14:56 the other side the Lord commanded Moses 14:59 to raise his staff and close the Red Sea 15:02 so Moses closed the Red Sea on the 15:04 Egyptian armies and drowned every last 15:06 one of them the Israelites sang praises 15:10 to God and celebrated Moses they were 15:13 finally free of their Egyptian 15:14 oppressors The Ten 15:17 Commandments for days the people of 15:19 Israel wandered through the desert and 15:21 were getting tired and hungry they began 15:23 to murmur against the Lord and Moses 15:26 saying it would be better to endure the 15:27 suffering of the Egyptians than to 15:29 survive under these conditions but the 15:32 Lord would not let his people perish he 15:34 caused manners to fall from Heaven and 15:37 directed Birds flocks towards their 15:38 location whenever they needed meat God 15:42 took care of his people even in the most 15:44 unbelievable situations he kept his 15:47 promises to their ancestors that they 15:49 would inherit a land flowing with milk 15:51 and honey the promised land they came up 15:55 to Mount Si camped at the foot of the 15:57 mountain and Moses went up to talk with 16:00 God only Moses was allowed to climb the 16:03 mountain any other person would be 16:06 struck dead if they tried the Israelites 16:09 water supply had run dry so they 16:11 complained to Moses and he prayed to God 16:14 and was instructed to speak to the Rock 16:16 at marbas staff and water would flow but 16:20 Moses had grown tired of the constant 16:22 murmuring of the Israelites so in Anger 16:25 he struck the stone hard with his staff 16:28 and water gushed used out with colossal 16:30 pressure because of this God told Moses 16:33 that he would not see the promised land 16:35 he had set aside for his people Moses 16:38 went up to the mountain and stayed there 16:40 for 40 days the Israelites became 16:43 uncertain of their fate so they were 16:46 afraid and turned their backs on God the 16:49 men instructed the women to bring their 16:51 gold and jewels and they melted the gold 16:53 formed a golden image of a calf and 16:56 started worshiping it God told Moses 16:58 Moes that his people had turned their 17:00 backs on him and were corrupting their 17:02 hearts while on the mountain God 17:05 presented Moses with two stone tablets 17:08 on it was written a code of conduct that 17:10 the people of Israel were to live by 17:13 This was later known as the Ten 17:15 Commandments which read you shall not 17:17 have any other gods besides me you shall 17:20 create no Idol for yourself no image of 17:24 anything in heaven on Earth or in the 17:26 waters beneath the Earth You shall not 17:28 take the name of the Lord your God in 17:30 vain for the Lord shall not leave 17:32 unpunished those who take his name in 17:35 vain remember the Sabbath day and keep 17:37 it holy honor your father and mother so 17:40 that you may have a long life in the 17:41 land that the Lord gives you you shall 17:44 not kill you shall not commit adultery 17:48 you shall not steal you shall not bear 17:50 false Witnesses against your neighbors 17:53 you shall not covet your neighbor's 17:55 house or wife his servants and Maid 17:57 servants his ox or donkey or anything 18:00 that is his Moses came down from the 18:03 mountain to present the Israelites with 18:05 the Ten Commandments and relay to them 18:07 the consequences that await those who 18:09 disobey them Moses met the Israelites 18:13 worshiping the idol they had made it 18:15 angered Moses that he dropped the 18:17 tablets and they broke Moses destroyed 18:20 the image and the altar that the 18:22 Israelites built and killed off the 18:24 corrupt people so their corruption 18:26 wouldn't spread about 3,00 th000 18:29 Israelites were executed that day the 18:32 Israelites repented of their ways and 18:34 Moses went back to the top of the 18:36 mountain God gave him another Stone 18:38 tablet and he took them back to the 18:40 Israelites and taught them to follow the 18:42 Commandments of God a beautiful Ark was 18:45 built to keep the laws delivered to them 18:48 by God it was made of wood and covered 18:50 in Gold cherub statues adorned the lid 18:54 later known as the Ark of the 18:56 Covenant the Israelites would still 18:59 spent another 40 years wandering in the 19:01 desert before they finally arrived in 19:03 Canaan the promised land the Israelites 19:05 spent 40 years in the wilderness mainly 19:08 because of their lack of faith and 19:10 obedience when God first brought them 19:12 out of Egypt they were supposed to go 19:14 straight to the promised land however 19:17 when they reached the border of Canaan 19:19 they refused to go in because they were 19:20 afraid of the land's inhabitants this 19:23 Disobedience led to God's judgment and 19:26 he told them they would spend 40 years 19:28 wandering in the wilderness during this 19:30 time all of the people who had left 19:32 Egypt would die off and their children 19:35 would be the ones to inherit the 19:36 promised 19:37 land Moses was 120 years old when he 19:41 died and God buried him in an unknown 19:43 grave Moses didn't make it to the 19:45 promised land because he disobeyed God's 19:48 command at the Waters of merbah because 19:50 of this Disobedience God told Moses that 19:53 he would not lead the people into the 19:55 promised land in the story of Moses the 19:58 roles of his siblings Miriam and Aaron 20:01 are often 20:02 overlooked they were both instrumental 20:04 in helping Moses lead the Israelites and 20:07 were with him from the beginning Miriam 20:09 was the one who watched over Baby Moses 20:11 in the basket and she later prophesied 20:14 about Moses Aaron was the one who spoke 20:17 on moses' behalf and he was the first 20:20 high priest of Israel without their 20:22 support Moses would not have been able 20:24 to accomplish all that he did seeing how 20:27 God used a whole family to accomplish 20:29 his purposes is 20:31 fascinating the life of Moses can be 20:33 summed up as a story of redemption and 20:36 God's 20:37 faithfulness despite his humble 20:39 beginnings as a baby in a basket God 20:41 used Moses to deliver the Israelites 20:43 From Slavery and to lead them out of 20:45 Egypt Moses faced many challenges 20:48 including rebellions and the people's 20:50 stubbornness but through it all God was 20:53 with him and guided him Moses was a 20:56 faithful servant of God and his life in 20:58 inspired us all
