But what is our goal with this training course in Agile Project Management? Our Course intends to promote your broader understanding of the specific mental approach (mind-set) of the Agile Methodology, of the situational guidelines to be able to guide you to the conscious and effective use of the Tools and Techniques, in order to facilitate your achievement of increasingly better and successful results in the respective work Roles that you cover within the Teams and organizations in which you operate. In designing this training course in Agile Project Management for you, we decided to provide practical guidance, thinking of addressing Project Leaders and Members of Project Teams who understand and want to adapt to an agile approach in the Planning and Execution of Projects. Based on our studies and the practical use in our profession of the Agile Project Management Methodology, we are the first to recognize that the use of predictive approaches (the "Traditional" Project Management) has enjoyed wide recognition and for much longer. But we are also aware of the widespread interest that more and more professionals like you and more and more companies are showing in wanting to move to an agile mentality, values and principles. For these reasons, our Course has chosen to illustrate a practical approach to Project agility and represents a bridge to understand the path to follow to move from a predictive approach to an agile one. In reality, as we will see, between the two approaches there are similar activities, such as Planning, which are managed differently but occur in both Methodologies. I also invite you to always keep in mind that, as you well know, in the Era we live in, characterized by the sudden changes given by Digital Transformation and Technological Innovation, as technology and culture change, you yourselves will be able to contribute to future updates and improvements in your daily use of this Methodology. To conclude, always remember that the Agile Methodology has now spread to many different contexts, so our Course is not limited to addressing the topic of Agile in the software development sector. For example, manufacturing, education, healthcare, even some government agencies and other sectors are becoming more effective, to varying degrees, thanks to the use of Agile and therefore the scope and objectives of this Course extend beyond the software industry. The Framework The Course that we present to you today and that you are about to follow refers to and makes available to you the constantly updated studies that both the Project Management Institute Inc. (PMI®) and the Agile Alliance® carry out in the field of Project Management ("Traditional") and Agile Project Management. Their studies, publications on standards and guidelines of the Project Management Institute are developed through a process of development of standards based on voluntary consensus. This process brings together volunteers from both organizations with subject matter experts chosen from a wide range of professionals and leaders with different backgrounds, beliefs and cultures. The members of both bodies (Project Management Institute and the Agile Alliance) come from different backgrounds and adopt various approaches. Some are consultants and others work within organizations with various managerial roles. You should know that, in order to make and maintain this Methodology increasingly effective and updated in the world, the two bodies constantly seek the involvement and opinion of professionals in the managerial, entrepreneurial and academic sectors, both American and international, interested in contributing to the continuous improvement of these Methodologies and the Frameworks that derive from them. We must immediately be clear that, although born in the field of Software Development, the positive impact and its effectiveness have led the Agile Methodology to make inroads in a variety of sectors that are not limited to software development, on the contrary. To date, and for many years now, the successful use of the Agile Project Management Methodology is continuously expanding in many different industrial and work environments and continues to be discovered, tested and applied more and more every day. To the point, as we will illustrate below, that it is increasingly being combined with other historically and solidly successful methodologies such as, just to name two, for example, Lean Thinking (The Toyota Production System) and Design Thinking. I would like you to also consider this element that I consider to be of great value. Let us remember that behind the specifications of the Tools and Techniques, which I am sure you are eager to learn and to be able to use as much as possible
