I Delivery of the MD-III starts from July 2014 I After a transition period of 6 months, production of MD-I and MD-II will be discontinued in January 2015. I Spare parts for repair and maintenance of MD-I and MD-II will continue to be available. I Supply of complete units will only be possible on an individual basis for emergency cases. CMP 10.07.2014 Page 36 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Contacts Non directional cam switches l The non-directional cam-operated contact is activated at the beginning of a position change. At the end it returns to its original position again. 115 l The switching procedure is always symmetrical. l From MR side, the cam switch is always activated between tap change sections 4…29. l Although other settings are conceivable, they are usually only necessary for special applications. l Use: Non-directional running message 115/C-NO 115/C-NC CMP 10.07.2014 Page 37 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Contacts Directional cam switches l The directional cam-operated contact is activated at the beginning of a position change. At the end it returns to its original position again. l The switching procedure is asymmetrical. 122 123 l 122 is activated in the direction MR+ (84R). 122 does not change its state in the direction MR- (84L)! l 123 is activated in the direction MR- (84L). 123 does not change its state in the direction MR+ (84R)! l From the MR side, the cam switch is always 122/C-NO activated between tap change sections 4...31. 122/C-NC 123/C-NO 123/C-NC l Use: Directional running message CMP 10.07.2014 Page 38 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Contacts Out of step contact l The cam-operated, out-of-step contacts change their state once per position change. l With control in the direction MR+ (84R), cam- operated contact 155 is activated in tap change 155 156 section 6,5 and cam switch 156 is activated in tap change section 26,5. l With control in the direction MR- (84L), the exact opposite applies. l 155 in SSE 26,5 / 156 in SSE 6,5! 155/C-NO 155/C-NC 156/C-NO 156/C-NC CMP 10.07.2014 Page 39 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Contacts End position signaling contact l The end position signaling contacts change their state at the respective end position MR+ or MR-. 171A 172A 171B 172B l 171A and 171B are activated in MR+ starting with tap change section 24. l 172A and 172B are activated in MR- starting with tap change section 24. l Use: Signal that end position has been reached. CMP 10.07.2014 Page 40 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Contacts Hand crank signaling contact l The hand crank provides 2-pole interruption of the motor circuit. This disables further electrical control. l Additional 1 or 2 C/O contacts can be selected for signaling. l Use: Signal for the control room that the hand crank is inserted! 84H-3 84H-4 CMP 10.07.2014 Page 41 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Switches l Every motor drive is equipped with a Raise / Lower selector switch. l Depending on customer requirements, other switches (heating, main, etc.) are also possible. l The manufacturer also calls these little selector switches on-load tap-changers (danger of mixup). CMP 10.07.2014 Page 42 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Switches Local / Remote / Auto Switch REMOTE LOCAL l The Local/Remote/Auto switch is exactly the same as the 43T-B Local/Remote switch except that 43T-A in the Auto position (automatic) a CS-A voltage regulator can be integrated, for example. l Depending on customer requirements, up to 4 potential- free signaling contacts are available. CMP 10.07.2014 Page 43 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Switches Heater switch l The heating can be turned off with the heater switch. HS-A l The heat should never be turned off. Without heat there would be no protection against water condensation on the motor drive MD-III and all components would be exposed to this danger. HEATING CIRCUIT l If desired, a potential-free signaling contact is available. CMP 10.07.2014 Page 44 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Switches Main switch I The various current circuits (motor, control, heating circuits) can be turned off with the MS-A MS-B main switch. I A main switch is not an EMERGENCY OFF! 8-2 8-2 I To this day, MR does not offer an CONTROL CIRCUIT EMERGENCY OFF! MOTOR CIRCUIT HEATING CIRCUIT I Switching off the heating circuit should also be avoided here. I If desired by the customer, a potential-free signaling contact is available. CMP 10.07.2014 Page 45 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Socket Power outlet 8-2 I Socket outlets on the motor drive are primarily needed for maintenance work. Socket outlets are not needed for normal operation. RCD I Socket outlets are always protected with a 10mA/10A ground leakage circuit breaker (leakage current/overcurrent). GFR I If desired by the customer, a potential-free signaling contact is available. I If a customer prefers a 30mA/10A ground leakage circuit 84R 8-2 breaker, this is also possible. I MD-III program includes the following socket outlets: NEMA 125V / 250V (USA) GFCI incl. ground leakage circuit breaker (USA) CMP 10.07.2014 Page 46 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Auxillary circuits Over voltage relais in control circuit I 2 potential-free contacts are looped in by the customer in the control circuit. One contact is for over voltage failure and other one for under voltage failure. I Tap position will always be finished in case of failure. I Other states are also conceivable which are monitored externally and for which regulation is to be prevented. CMP 10.07.2014 Page 47 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Auxillary circuits CS-A 43T-A Coupling relais 8-2 84L 111 112 84R 113 I Coupling relays are used to decouple control signals. This 8-2 „OFF“ allows another pulse voltage to be selected than the control voltage (not mandatory). 43T-B I With coupling relays, a DC voltage can also be used for raise/lower operation and trip signal for 8-2. 111 112 113 CMP 10.07.2014 Page 48 MOTOR DRIVE UNIT MD-III – ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT Auxillary circuits Incomplete circuit 8-2 I When the “incomplete circuit” is used, the time is measured for each motor drive run which was required for a 124 complete position change. This is ~3 s. I If this time + tolerance time (1s) is exceeded, a message is generated.
