Training Questions: 1. Why do we have a height restriction on the hydroslide? Because if they're under 130 centimet they're more likely to hurt themselves on the slide being so small. If they're over 130 centimetres more likely to be able slow themselves down or stop. It's nothing to do with the depth of the water at the bottom of the slide. 2. Why do we have a height restriction on the spa? Because of the sudden depth change so if you are standing on the step and you fell off and you're under 130 centimetres you go straight underwater. If you're in the wave pool it's a gradual slope down to the deep end so you're more likely to be able to walk yourself back up. 3. Why do we have a age restricition on the spa's? It's so that one spa can be just catered just for adults with no children in it and the age they can go into the adults spa is over the age of 16 then they're classified as a adult 4. Why do we have a age restricition on the aqua jogging belts? First there's not enough Aqua jogging belts for all the children and we do not want children coming here who are not particularly good at swimming to go into the deep end of our lane pool and the bell accidentally falls off. 5. Why can't my baby wear their normal nappy in the pool? Because a normal nappy will soak up vast amounts of water and leak it's not designed to go into water it's designed to stay dry if you want to go into the water with a waterproof nappy then you can purchase one at reception and it designed to go in the water. 6. Why can't I wear my normal t-shirt in the pool? First we do not know if the T-shirt or the item of clothing is clean and 2nd the fibres from the T-shirt will go into our filters and can clog them up. And people come into the pool it does not look good if your whole swimming pool is just full up with people with random clothes on we have to remember this is a swimming pool. 7. Why do I have to be within arms reach of my under 5 year old? Under 5 had no concept of danger all they see is a body of water where they can swim so they don't understand what their capabilities are. And most of them don't understand how to stand up in the water. That's why you need to have someone in arms reach and 16 years and over. 8. Why is the rec lane not open? Not enough staff to manage and there is a booking over there 9. Why can't my kids go down the hydroslide together? It comes down to being an adult again and knowing what the dangers are that's why it's very important that one of the kids are over the age of 16 and know what the consequences are if they do something stupid. 10. Why is there an age restriction on the sauna & steam room? If they're under the age of 16 they're more likely to stay in the sauna on the steamer way too long it's very dangerous place so being over the age of 16 you'd hope they'd know what their capabilities are. 11. Why is the pool closed for so long when someone vomits? Because it's a different part of your body usually you only vomit if you've actually been ill or you've been ill in the past so it's still your gut that actually is affected and the bacteria that come out needs to be treated much longer than just a normal faecal so in the wave pool for example it's 2 ½ hours turn over 12. Why can't I take my 6 year old in the aqua jogging lane? Aqua jogging lane is more catered just for adults to do aqua jogging if we let all the six year olds in how do I say that's enough it just won't work 13. Why isnt the manu platform running? Not enough staff to man it and there is a booking in there 14. Why isnt the inflatable up? Not enough staff to man it and there is a booking in there 15. Why can't I have my phone in the pool with me? Because as you're all aware when you're using your mobile phone you can get straight onto the Internet. And you can take photos of people you've never even met before Andy it's not a good look to have the whole swimming pool full up with people on their mobile phones in the water 16. Why can't I run on poolside? It's a wet area and you could lose your footing and trip up and the floor is quite coarse so we'll cut you up quite badly. 17. Why are you talking to my kids? Because your child is not following a rule in our facility and we have to keep it as safe as possible so I can explain it to the kid or if you would like you can explain it to them. 18. Why do I have to get out of the pool at 8.45pm during the week? This gives us enough time to keep the facility clean as possible. And we would like all our customers to be out of the facility by 9:00pm 19. Why can't I change the channel on the TV? You can ask the lifeguards to change the channel and they're more than welcome to change it as long as it is not boxing or UFC or any music videos we have to think of the clientele that's all ages. 20. Why can't I change my child on poolside? This comes down to the wide range of customers we have in our facility and not knowing why they are here. So we'd much appreciate if all customers could use the changing facilities we have in our facility this is here and at cannons Creek as well. We do not need to see children get changed on pool side.
