Martin, LPT ing Prayer Open & e Checking Attendanc ou rselve s Fix y ro un ding s & sur & ok on Desk Notebo Lesson Objectives: By the end of the lesson you should be able to: 1.Identify the basic elements of the Windows Desktop. 2.Explore the Windows Desktop. 3.Show enthusiasm in exploring the Windows Desktop by creating folders and files and organizing them in the desktop. Review Direction: Determine the parts of the windows desktop. What is a Windows File Explorer? Microsoft Windows File Explorer is a file manager application with a graphical user interface. It helps users manage files fast and efficiently. It is typically located at the taskbar. Different Ways to Manage Files and Folders Moving Files and Folders STEP 1: Open an File Explorer STEP 2: On the file list, select the file or folder to be moved. To move multiple files or folders, highlight them by holding right-click button on the mouse. STEP 3: Drag the files or folder to the destination folder. Copying Files and Folders STEP 1: Open an File Explorer STEP 2: On the file list, select the file or folder to be copied. On the toolbar, click on Home > Copy. STEP 3: Select the destination folder where you want you want your file to be copied and click on Paste. Renaming Files and Folders STEP 1: Open an File Explorer STEP 2: On the file list, select the file or folder to be renamed. On the toolbar, click on Home > Rename. STEP 3: Enter a new filename or folder name to the selected items. Deleting Files and Folders STEP 1: Open an File Explorer STEP 2: On the file list, select the file or folder to be deleted. On the toolbar, click on Home > Delete. Activity: File Management System Direction: Create the following files & folders and organize it. Main Folder Filename: Full Name & Grade and Section Mico Martin 4F (Example: “Mico Martin 4F”) Subfolder Filename: “My Favorite animal” Inside Subfolder My Favorite Animal Image File (draw using MS paint) Filename: Name of your favorite animal (Example: “Cat”) Text File (description using Notepad) Filename: “Description” Cat Description Questions 1. What are the things you've learned today from our lesson 4? 2. Why do we need to manage our files & folders in the computer? Generalization Learning to navigate the desktop like moving icons and organizing folders helps develop computer literacy. Moreover, understanding how to use desktop tools, like the taskbar and start menu, helps us become more efficient in accessing programs and files.
