You will return them exactly with same packing way at the end of the day, and it will be checked to ensure all parts are returned by IT. The controller is often packed with the power and the USB cables. Logging in – New account 1. Upon powering on the PS4 console you will be presented with being able to log in to an account. • There are two different options for this Logging in with an account or Quick sign up 2. To do so select "New User", then select "Play as a Guest" and log in with the appropriate account details for your project • Playing as guest will log the user out and ensure that if the PlayStation gets used for different projects, they will not use accounts that are not assigned to them 3. These account details should be provided by the lead • These accounts will be project specific unless otherwise stated Logging in – Quick Sign Up If your project does not use specific log in details then select "Quick Sign Up" on the log in screen to instantly make an account. This account will not have access to multiplayer on certain applications and projects. Sending/Accepting friend invites To send a friend request to another user, simply: 1. Navigate to the "Friends" icon on the PS4 Home Menu 2. Enter the username of the user that you want to add 3. Select their profile 4. Select "Add to Friends" To accept friend requests: 5. Navigate to the "Friends" icon on the PS4 home menu 6. Select "Friend Requests" 7. Select "Accept" for the user that you wish to add. LQA - Change your region To change the region of the PlayStation Newtork account that you are using, you will need to do this when you sign in with the account. Upon device start up begin with selecting "New User" - "Play as a Guest" - "Sign In Manually" - "Quick Sign Up" - Select Country or Region required for application testing. LQA – Language Settings As a LQA tester, you will have to set your system to your testing language: 1. Select ‘Settings’ from the PlayStation Interface. 2. Select ‘Language’. 3. Select ‘System Language’ then scroll down to find the language. IP address & Console ID When fully set-up with your PS4, you can see your IP address along with other hardware information in a little box in your upper left corner. If you would have troubles with your PS4, you will have an identifying sticker with a number on it. It is located at the front side. Locating Build numbers • Locate the Application requiring the build number. • Press the Options button and navigate to “Information”. • Locate the Version number within the Information tab. Locating System Version Method 1 • There are two different ways of locating the System version. • The first method is accessing it via the PS4 system information settings as shown below. 3 2 1 1.Select Settings Menu 2.Open Settings Menu 3.Open System Menu 4.Open System Information 5.Observed the system Software Version 5 4 Locating System Version Method 2 • There are two different ways of locating the System version. • The second method of Locating the system version requires using the Neighbourhood for PS4 application. • To locate the System version for the PS4 all that you need to do is: 1. 2. 3. 4. Add the PS4 as a target Connect to the PS4 Locate the PS4 SDK column Locate the SDK Version for the Connected PS4 • This method is faster but on rare occasions where the neighbourhood app is unavailable the other method can be used. Trophies To view Trophies, select the Trophy icon on the PS4 Home Menu and then select the application that you are currently testing to display the trophy list. To instantly unlock or lock a previously unlocked trophy: 1. Press the "Options/Select" button on the "Duelshock 4" or "PS Move" controller. 2. Select either "Unlock" or "Lock" when highlighting any individual trophy in the game's trophy list. Debug Settings There are some options can be found in Debug Settings which might be required to set up: 1. Select ‘Settings’ from the PlayStation Interface. 2. Select ‘Debug Settings’ which appears at the very bottom. How to activate Fake Plus For multiplayer applications and games, it will be required for the account to have “Fake PS+” active. 1. Navigating to "Debug Settings“. 2. Select “Multi User”. 2. Select the username of the account. 3. Select "PlayStation Network". 4. Change the “Fake Plus” setting to on. This will allow the use of development multiplayer servers for a selection of games. How to set PS4 to Assist Mode Sometimes the device will struggle to use either Release Mode or Assist Mode. Depending on which mode you’re testing, you can switch it directly in the console. Primarily you tend to test on Assist Mode. 1. Select ‘Boot Parameters’ from Debug Settings page. 2. Select ‘Release Check Mode’ and then select ‘Assist Mode’ or ‘Release Mode’. Save Data Management To delete the save data for the desired application: 1. Highlight the application on the PS4 Home Menu 2. Press the "Option/Select" button 3. Scroll down to "★Delete“ 4. Select the bottom 2 boxes 5. Select "Delete" to delete the save data from the console. Capture Media • There are 2 ways to capture screenshots and videos: Using PS4 Using Neighborhood for PS4 • Captures and display media, as well as saving it directly to your console. • Allows for direct recording from your PC. • All recordings will be stored by default in the media gallery in the console storage. • Captures screenshots or utilise Remote Viewer for video footage. • Generates crash logs. • All recordings will be saved on your PC. How to capture media on PS4 To capture media from the PS4 console, start the application and then press the "Option/Select" button on the "Duelshock 4" or "PS Move" controller twice to begin a recording session. To stop the recording, simply press the button twice again. Pushing videos/screenshots to system storage To push to the system storage the user must: • Scroll to the media in the "Capture Gallery" • Hover over the media and select "Start/Options" • Select "Copy to System Storage“ To remove any footage from a PS4 you must do two things: • Push the video to the neighbourhood system storage • Pull the video from the neighbourhood system storage Pulling Videos from System Storage Once it has finished copying, right click on the connected device in Neighbourhood and select "Explore File System“. Select the same IP address that is on your console and then navigate to the "Share" folder and then simply copy and paste the required media to your PC. Neighborhood for PS4 Neighborhood for PlayStation 4 is the target management application you can use to capture screenshots and video clips onto your PC. 1. Run the Neighborhood for PlayStation 4 application. 2. Click “Add Target” and implement the PS4 IP address. How to find your IP address 3. Click “Connect”. Neighborhood for PS4 - Remote Viewer Sometimes you will be required to capture media with your PS4. This is how you do it. 1. Click “Apps”, then select “Remote Viewer” to open the Remote Viewer window. 2. Click “Start” to activate the Remote Viewer. 3. Click the icon of “Take screenshot” or “Capture video” in either the tool bar or the remote frame to capture screenshots or video clips. 4. To stop recording select "Capture Video" once again. 5.To view recorded sessions, select "Show Captures“. Pulling logs - Demo To create a log ensure you are connected to a PlayStation DevKit and click on the apps button • Once there, open console output. • Reproduce the issue if console output was not open while the issue occurred. • Pause the console output and copy all text into a notepad file. • This copied data in the notepad file is the log information required for PSVR. Pulling crash logs - Demo Crash logs will be automatically generated when one occur. You can locate them by following the steps below: 1. Open the Neighbourhood for Playstation4 App 2. Connect to the PlayStation that encountered the crash 3. Right click and select Explore file system 4. Select “Data” > “SCE_CoreDumps” and locate the timestamped file that was your crash This crash log should be immediately flagged to the project lead. Inside the File there will be a Video and Log containing all the data that is required by the developers Troubleshoot Issues Remove a paired controller To remove a paired controller from a console, navigate to: 1. Settings 2. Devices 3. Bluetooth Devices 4. Select any controller that is not being used 5. Select Options 6. Select Forget Device Troubleshoot Issues Expired Devkit When signed into an account and arriving at the PS4 Home Menu, you could see an activation message saying that the dev kit has expired. This can be fixed by navigating to: 1. ★Debug Settings 2. Activation 3. Activate Using Internet 4. Activate Immediately Switching off your PS4 To switch off PlayStation 4 correctly: 1. Select "Power" from the very right end of the PlayStation Interface. 2. Select “Power Options”. 3. Select "Turn Off PS4". You can also Restart PS4, Log Out of PS4 or Switch User in this menu. Or you may: 1. Hold PS Button to bring out the Quick Menu. 2. Select “Power”. 3. Select "Turn Off PS4". You can also Restart PS4, Log Out of PS4 or Switch User in this menu.
