Prolia Manufacturer: Amgen Year introduced to the global market: According to European Commission (EC) has granted Prolia their marketing authorization in May 28, 2010. Composition and nature of the preparation Prolia is the brand name for Denosumab (60 mg/ml), which is a human monoclonal IgG2 antibody. This medicine is produced by recombinant DNA technology in a mammalian cell line. Indication The main indication is to treat Osteoporosis. Contra-indication It is contraindicated in patients with hypocalcemia. The hypocalcemia must be fixed first before Prolia (denosumab) is administered to patients. Side effects (give the first 5 side effects) Hypophosphatemia Nausea Dyspnea (Shortness of breath) Storage Prolia is to be stored in a refrigerator at a temperature of (2°C – 8°C). Once it is removed from the refrigerator, Prolia can be stored at room temperature up to 25°C for around 30 days and should be kept in the original container.
