What do we mean by “exploitation”? Exploitation refers to the various ways a film/television series can make money HOW CAN FILMS MAKE MONEY? Theatrical Distribution Rights – Domestic and International Streaming Platforms Home Video Sales Television Rights Merchandising Film Festival Prizes and Awards Ancillary – E.g. Soundtrack and music Sponsorships and Partnerships 3 Minimum Guarantee Pre-sale Investing Broadcaster Acquisition KEY TERMS Territory Window Exclusivity 4 Producer WHO ARE THE Broadcaster P L AY E R S ?
