SHOULDER SPECIAL TESTS Test Name Tests For +ve Sign How to Perform Anterior Drawer Anterior GH Joint Clicking Pt supine, Mt abducts shoulder 80-120 degrees, instability or labral tear Apprehension forward flexed upto 20, laterally rotates upto 30. Hypermobility Mt stabilizes scap on posterior aspect/ thumb on corocoid ad draws humerus upwards Apprehension Crank Gross instability of GH/ Apprehension Pt supine, Mt passively moves client into 90 dislocation Muscle Spasm degrees of abduction/ full external rotation and Pain applies over pressure (SLOWLY) Posterior Drawer Posterior instability of Hypermobility Pt supine, Mt places client into 80-120 abduction, GH Apprehension 20-30 flexion and stabilizes scap,then rotates arm Pain medially and forward flexes 60-80. Applies posterior force to the humerus Push Pull Posterior instability of Hypermobility Pt supine, Mt abducts upto 90 and froward flexes GH Apprehension upto 30, one hand on humeral head pushing Pain down and hand on elbow pulling up Sulcus Sign Inferior instability of Hypermobility Observe sign, if not then pull humerus inferiorly GH joint 1. Mild gap
