Personal statement I'm Theo Asinobi and I'm from originally from Nigeria I came in the Uk at the age of 13 prior to coming to the uk I lived in several different countries such as Italy, France, and Germany due to the pursuit of a better quality of life me and my family has had to move quite a lot before we ended up in the uk and I've had challenges in building rapport with my fellow mates due to the commutation barriers I was experiencing. However, this has not stopped me from chasing my dreams of helping people the best way possible and I've always had a keen interest in the anatomy of the body (biology) and the chemical condition of drugs hence why I've chosen to pursuit the study of pharmacy at the university of Hertfordshire. I've managed to achieve grades ranging from A-Bs in my academic journey in sixth form in the subject of biology, chemistry, economics and grades ranging from A\* -C in my academic journey in secondary school including English and maths. I've faced few challenges during my academic journey such as learning the English language, communating with my peers and adapting to a new environment but all and all I happy to have acquired the essential skill sets that have allowed to pursuit my future aspirations such as communication through partaking in after school reading clubs, leadership by currently being student representative for my course, perseverance through patiently striving to be better skill set, team player through working or gaining working experience in several sectors/industries such as placements on we'll pharmacy. I believe this skills set are a stepping foundation towards achieving my future aspirations. I've also recent challenge in my academic journey having to resit a year due family related issue had resulted in being medically noted by doctor to be going though mental health issues with stress and anxiety. I aim to be help the community by being a community pharmacist as A pharmacist plays a key role in healthcare by dispensing medications accurately, providing guidance on safe and effective use, managing potential drug interactions, and supporting patient adherence to treatment plans. They also offer health advice, conduct wellness screenings, administer vaccinations, and work closely with other healthcare professionals to optimis patient outcomes and promote overall well-being. The scholarship would financially assist in overcoming the financial hurdles that im undergoing as a student I order for me to achieve my future aspirations as this would allowed me invest in like tools such as a laptop and travel expenses which could be considered as a vital components in one's academic journey aiding me to focus on my studies and preventing me from seeking part time work to make earns meet. As a current undergraduate student I face the challenge of expenditures such as rent (£4800), course fee (2310), living cost (£3000), mobile phone bill (£180), water, gas and electric (£ 2640), travel (£ 1920), credit card/overdraft repayment (£ 2375), car insurance (£2760), lunch (£720), totalling to £19505. I receive financial support from: student finance England maintaince loan (£10277), tuition loan (£0), part time work (£9024). Totalling to £19301. This leaves me in a deficit of -£204 As evidently shown on, my expenses are currently outweighing my income and any support i receive as a student this puts me in a tough spot of having to constantly think about ways to negate this dilemma contributing to the family issues I'm undergoing and overall having a negative toll on my mental health which could result in a poor academic performance as shown previously. The scholarship fund would help me reduce the need to seek for financial assistance such extra/over time at work or look for another means of making earns such getting additional work, this would enable me to channel my focus, strength and energy towards my study. It would also help me in making educational purchases such as a laptop as I currently don't posses one and allievationg from having to depend on a library to do my work or study. Additionally it would help me alleviate the cost of my mode of transport towards university especially with the surge in price of fuel and my living costs
