# Global Citizenship The UNESCO believes that global citizens are the people who are trying, in their way of thinking and behaviour, to build a world where there is greater justice, peace and survival conditions. **World Peace** Permanent peace is not limited to security and freedom from violence. It also includes development of understanding others, recognizing synergies between humans, learning how to settle disputes while respecting pluralism and understanding cultural diversity. **The Concept of Global Citizenship Stems from Three Pillars:** * **Earth is our home:** Earth is our home, where we live together, and it must be protected. * **World peace is a requirement:** World peace is a requirement of all members of the human community. * **All human beings are equal:** All human beings are equal. **(FYI Note):** The UNESCO believes that global citizens are trying to build a world with greater justice, peace, and survival conditions.
