Health Services Team It is a team directed towards a common goal, consisting of individuals, each of whom is equally important. Healthcare team members include patients, family members, caregivers, different healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care and treatment, and insurance companies. Health Services Team In order to work effectively as a team, members must communicate effectively with each other. It should have a common language in terms of care, respect, dedication and teamwork. Every team member should also have leadership skills. Why Teamwork? Productivity Quick decision making Professional Fast service knowledge delivery acquisition Motivation Creativity Job satisfaction Types of Teamwork There are 4 different healthcare teams. Intradisciplinary Team Multidisciplinary Team Interdisciplinary Team Transdisciplinary Team Intradisciplinary Team Working together within the same discipline Other disciplines are not involved in the process. For example; work of physical therapists and physical therapist asssisstants Although team members work effectively, such teams are not very effective. Multidisciplinary Team Team members work separately and independently from each other within their own disciplines. They do not come together or try to work together. Team members' responsibilities often go against their own discipline. Sometimes there may be competition among team members. For example; evaluation of a patient with a specific condition with little communication between people with different medical specialties. Lack of communication and support can be a disadvantage for the patient. It is not the most effective type of teamwork; success depends on team members. Multidisciplinary Team Discipline Discipline Application purpose Discipline Discipline Multidisciplinary Team (+) (-) Professional autonomy Low communication and Providing multidimensional interaction service Lack of a common program Coordinated work opportunity There may be conflicting practices Interdisciplinary Team Compared to the first two teams, members of this team work together, involving all disciplines, to set goals for the patient's condition. All team members take an active role in the decision-making process. However, assessments and interventions are carried out independently. In such teams, team members from different disciplines come together, share information, and try to understand each other's disciplines to help the patient. It is the most efficient and successful team. Interdisciplinary Team Discipline Discipline Application Discipline Purpose Discipline Interdisciplinary Team (+) (-) High adaptability and Dominant members harm the coordination harmony within the team High level of communication and Challenges of creating a interaction common space A common application setup patient focus Sharing knowledge and skills Transdisciplinary Team They are teams of different disciplines working in an integrated manner around a common goal, based on a method that transcends disciplinary boundaries. Professionals from different disciplines work in an integrated manner based on a method that transcends disciplinary boundaries. Transdisciplinary Team Looking at teamwork based on a transdisciplinary approach, it is seen that the lines between disciplines in teams are beginning to become more uncertain. While in such teams team members have the opportunity to demonstrate their own knowledge and expertise, identifying the best idea or approach is always the product of a collective effort. It is very similar to interdisciplinary teamwork, but it differs from interdisciplinary teamwork as experts from different disciplines unite at a single point and start doing the same job.
