## Every D tank is good for 2 reactions ### CD Tank (raw materials) - Acrylamide - Acrylic acid - Process water - Caustic - ATW - Melgitator and resurculation pump - mixes material - Resirculatan line - Heat exchanger - Heat exchanger - applies heat or removes - Glycol cools down product heat ### Reactor - Process air, Reducer, Oxidizer, vent, Psu vent, al, Mohr salt - Sparges - removes oxygen from reactors - Oxygen kills your batch ### 3 Types of Oil - LPA Oil, PK455, 5775 - Extrai Oil for LP3 - PPG - Vaso-Thermo Catalyst - Trilon C - 3 min (replaces versenex 80; removes iron from monor) - Hypo - 5 min (chain breaker; reduces size of polymer strings/lower Ul vecucity - thin) - Va 044- 5m (Thermo Catalyst; helps with heat process) ### Oxidizer < - TBHP - 30 seconds - Persullick - 5 min - Mohr Salt 2 minutes < - When it meet with reducer, create heat - Iron - Ignitiaturs; can't have one without other ### Notes - There is no acrylic acid or caustic on line 3. - Draw down check list ## (Dryers) - Dryer 1 - paddle board system; feed screw - Dryer 2 - air and heat, fluidized bed - Dryer 3 - air and heat, fluidized bed - Cyclones help move fines from 1st dryer to the next - Helps remove pressure - Line 1 & 2 - 5 cyclones (1,2,2) - Line 5 - 12 cyclones - Line 4 - 14 cyclones (2,5,5,2) ## Granulater - Granulater screen #1 - 10mm *dosar screw* - Granulater screen #2 - 6mm *feed screw* ## Inhibitors - Oxygen, MBA screw - Acrylic acid is a monomer - Acrylic acid changes the charge on line 3 - If vaso catch a fire it creates cyonide ## Monomers - Acrylamide (neutral) - Acrylic acid (anionic) - ATN ## Polymer - Polyacrylamide - Anionic (-) charge - Catonic (+) charge - Nonionic - neutral charge ## Inhibitors - Anything that interferes with free radical polymerization (oxygen, MeHQ, Alagen) - Metal, copper - MEHQ - Main inhibitor that prevents an initiation in D-Tank - Antifoam - too much foam will get stuck in granulator ## D Tank - Uses both mass flow meter and pressure transmitter to measure amount in D-Tank - PH - IP PH is 13 or higher split the tanks - Caustic - raises PH level - Acid - lowers PH level - Too much acrylic acid will result in high anocity - Too little will result in low aninnticy ## Centrifingal pump - Are used to transfer from the D-Tank to reactor ## O degrees C - Is the target for D-Tank - If not will cause reaction to take off slower and lower UL - Oil prevent gel from sticking to reactors - Oil helps with reactor speed - Mixing of oxidizing and reducers catalyst will result in a violent chemical reaction ## Oxidizers - TBHP - store below 86 degrees f in dry place; It helps with ignitionator/heat process - Persulfate - (5min) It helps with heat process. ## Reducers - Versenex (3min) Chelating Agint; takes away metal ocupper - MBA - Iron/MOHR Salt - (2min) Initiator - Hypo - (5 min) Chain Breaker/Chans transfer agint - Theromo Catalyst - Vazo - Must mix for 30 min - Va-044-(5min) - Redox Package - Dispose if reaction is taking a while to take off (versenex, TBHP) - 50/50 MOHR SALT ## Hydrolysis - Is a chemical reaction where water with another substance to form 2 or more substance (m 1 o ma) - Hypo - less hypo high UC - Too much low UE - If Cynide catches fire, just let it run it's course - Acylamide - stop your product from reaching or freezing - It also add iron in D-Tank - Urca in D-Tank is a filler ## We use centrifugal pump on D-Tank ## Post Hydro- Acetic Acid ## Book of Analysis - Is where you get your PH results from ## RO water - Is only used in MOHR Salt (Reverse Osmosis) - It has no minerals ## Glycol - Cools down the product ## Pryer 1 - Moves by paddles ## Dryer 2+3 - Air and heat ## Each D-Tank - Can hold 2 reactions - MeHQ - is an inhibitor that helps the water not to react in the D-Tank because of the large amount of asylamide ## Reducers - Versenex (3min) - Hypo (5min) - Mohr salt (2min) ## Thermo Catalyst - Varzo (30min) - Va-044 (5min) ## Oxidizers - Persulfate (5min) - TBHP (5min) ## Oils - LPA Oil - Main M.X - PK 455 - granulator oil - S-275 - reactor oil ## Hypo + UL - Too much hypo low UL; not enough high UL ## D-Tank matenab (LP1/2) (LP3) - Water - Acrylamide - Urea (filler) - Acrylic acid - Caustic - Salt (depend) - Atw (depend) - MEHQ (depend) - Water - Acrylamide - Urea - Acetic acid - Salt - MeHQ - ATW ## Cyclones - Helps remove product from dryer to dryer ## Stacks - Are needed to disperse combustions gas and vapors into atmosphere ## Span/Tureen or oil - Keep warm in a slurry form to allow a good transfer.
