Key features include cry detection via a condenser microphone, temperature and humidity monitoring with a DHT11 sensor, wetness detection using a water sensor, motion tracking through a PIR sensor, and rain detection for environmental alerts. Additionally, a servo motor can gently rock the cradle based on the baby’s needs. Data is processed and communicated via Firebase, allowing parents to receive immediate alerts through a mobile app. This innovative system addresses common childcare challenges, providing safety and convenience for working parents. INTRODUCTION In contemporary society, working mothers face significant challenges in balancing professional responsibilities with the demands of childcare, particularly in ensuring their infants' well-being throughout the day. Traditional daycare options often fall short in meeting the constant monitoring needs of families, while hiring caregivers can be financially burdensome. In response to this dilemma, an IoT-based smart baby monitoring system offers a practical solution by leveraging the transformative capabilities of IoT to connect and automate devices. This proposed system features a cradle that automatically swings in response to the baby's cries, detects wetness to alert caregivers, and monitors body temperature for early illness detection, all while incorporating motion sensors for added security. By providing real-time monitoring and alerts, the system alleviates parental stress and empowers parents to offer attentive care without sacrificing their professional or personal commitments, ultimately fostering a nurturing environment for their infants. HARDWARE REQUREMENTS 1. MICROCONTROLLER:ESP8266 Node-MCU 2. Water sensor 3. Condenser mic 4. DHT 11 temperature sensor 5. PIR sensor 6. Servo motor 7. Buzzer 8. Baby Cradle SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS ARDUINO IDE SOFTWARE REQUIRED OPERATED SYSTEMS : Windows 10 or above 8gb or above RAM 256gb or above memory(ROM) PROPOSED SYSTEM The cradle system has five parts to keep the baby safe. Sound Sensor: Hears the baby cry and rocks the cradle. It also sends a message to the parent. Wetness Detector: Checks if the baby is wet and tells the parent. Temperature Monitor: Measures the baby’s temperature and alerts the parent if it changes too much. Motion Detector: Sees if the baby is moving and sends a message to the parent. ESP8266: Sends messages to the parent's phone and connects everything. Existing baby cradles usually have limited features that can disturb the baby's sleep. Research shows that some systems are noisy, lack essential functions like automatic swinging, or are too expensive due to complex technology. Additionally, many cradles do not monitor the baby's or room's temperature, leaving gaps in care. PROBLEM STATEMENT Parents struggle to monitor their babies all the time, especially when working.Most cradles don’t have automatic features like sound or temperature monitoring. Parents may not respond quickly when the baby cries, gets wet, or feels too hot.Some baby monitoring systems are too expensive or hard to use. Many systems don’t allow parents to monitor their baby remotely. EXPECTED OUTPUT CONCLUSION In conclusion, the IoT-based smart baby monitoring system represents a significant advancement in infant care technology, offering a comprehensive solution for real-time monitoring of babies. Utilizing the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, the system integrates various sensors to detect baby cries, temperature changes, wetness, and motion, providing timely alerts and automated responses. Despite its advantages in enhancing monitoring and convenience for parents, the system also faces limitations, such as reliance on technology and potential false alarms. Future research can focus on improving sensor accuracy and communication protocols, as well as adding features for personalized caregiving. Overall, this innovative system has the potential to revolutionize infant care, providing caregivers with essential support and peace of mind.
