PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1 VANESSA DOLLETE-BUSTILLO TEACHER Practical Research 1 This course develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills through qualitative research. It accompanies students in an interesting research from the first phase of doing research, that is, “Identifying the inquiry and stating the problem” to “Learning from the others and reviewing the literature”, then to “Understanding data and ways to systematically collect data, to “ Finding answers through data collection”, to “Analyzing the meaning of data and drawing conclusions”, and finally to, “ Reporting and CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS 1. Observation 2. Analysis 3. Inference 4. Communication 5. Problem Solving PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS -the ability to identify problems, brainstorm and analyze answers and implement the best solutions. Inquiry and Research are two terms that are almost the same in meaning. Both involve investigative work in which you seek information about something by searching or examining the object of your search. Inquiry- is to look for information by asking various questions about the thing you are curious about. Research - discover thruths by investigating on your chosen topic scientifically; meaning by going through a systematic way of doing things wherein you are to begin from the simplest to the most complex modes or patterns thinking.
