Color harmonies fall into two broad categories, related and contrasting. Related harmonies are subdivided into monochromatic and analogous. Contrasting color harmonies unite hues that are separated on the color wheel. The most common of these harmonies is the complementary color scheme. MONOCHROMATIC MONOCHROMATIC Are based on one hue varied in value and saturation-for example, pale green with pure green and dark green. With regard to interior design, there is real danger of monotony in such an arrangement.
