These lecture notes cover the arrangement of artificial teeth, considering factors like bone resorption, esthetics, and the occlusal plane. The document also discusses teeth setting in various dental cases, like Class II and III.

Arrangement of artificial teeth DR, Sara Zaky Mohamed Factors considered in teeth arrangement 1. Pattern of bone resorption 2. Esthetics 3. The occlusal plane 4. Harmony of teeth with contour 5. Interdigitation of teeth 1-pattern of bone resorption  Maxilla resorbs upward and inward to become progressively smaller because of the direction and inclination of the roots of the teeth and the alveolar process.  The opposite is true of the mandible, which inclines outward and becomes progressively wider. This progressive change of the edentulous mandible and maxilla makes many patients appear prognathic. 1-pattern of bone resorption Setting up of upper anterior teeth should be labial to crest of ridge to restore original position of the natural anterior teeth. 2-Esthetics 2-Esthetics 2-Esthetics 3-occlusal plane 3-occlusal plane 4- harmony of the teeth with the contour 5-interdigitation of teeth Setting of teeth Setting up of anterior in class II Vertical overlap should be kept small as esthetic and phonetics allow. Maxillary anterior teeth set up posteriorly (on crest of ridge) Maxillary anterior teeth set up with their incisal edges inclined palatally.(rabitty) Mandibular anteriors set up slight libially and 4 to support modiolus. Leave out mandibular central or lateral incisor or overlap them. Large overjet Setting up of posterior in class II The upper posteriors will set up inside the ridge to occlude with the lower teeth. Never set up the lower posteriors outside the ridge (instability) Setting up of anterior in class III Maxillary anterior teeth set up anteriorly (on crest of ridge)for esthetics. Maxillary anterior teeth set up with their incisal edges inclined labially. Mandibular anteriors set up slight lingually on ridge without tongue interference Addition of mandibular central incisor. Set up edge to edge.
