TTS (text-to-speech code) Text-to-speech (TTS) is a type of assistive technology that reads digital text aloud. In some strings you can find a <tts> tag and some text after it. • <tts> is a tag that tells the system to use the software reader that reads the words/text automatically. • In some cases, the text might not be pronounced correctly. It is necessary to force the technology to read the word or the character in a particular way. • The text after <tts> tag is not displayed in game. SSML (Speech Synthesis Markup Language code) • <ssml> = Speech Synthesis Markup Language. It is a markup language that provides a way to mark text up for generation of synthetic speech (i.e., you add a transcription using International Phonetic Alphabet, and the software will reproduce it instead of reading the word itself). • The text after <ssml> tag is not displayed in game.
