Let me know if you need details on any specific department! **Be prepared to answer:** 1. **What I am looking for in a career:** Value and believe in the work we do, worth in my contribution, being a part of the community and making the community better, team environment, fun and support, positive reinforcement, work life balance. My favourite part of the job is finding good news stories and managing crisis issues that deescalates the issue and ensures our staff feel supported. 2. **How you would handle crisis communications, develop communication plans:** deal with crisis and contentious issues weekly. If it is something that we cant dispute - acknowledge, apologize and talk about change - if it is something that there is some wiggle room on, we would craft the messaging to spin it. I would do a fact finding mission to find out what actually happened, and then rework the situation to be in our best interest. I would take the need, talk to leads and do background research then work through the background, business need, goals and objectives, strategy tactics and timeline budget measurement and evaluation. Examples - kid left outside, Mtis misidentified 3. **2-3 key success stories that highlight leadership, problem-solving, and impact:** This is a large part of my current role, I work on the senior team lead all communication strategies. I like to have them involved in the process. I am a team sports person and I feel like there is more buy in if there is engagement all the way along rather than dictating what we are doing at the end. A lot of my job is relationship building. Impact, leadership on comms:-- knit night coverage, Special Olympics, Mtis beading, staff sick days, registration increase. 4. **Behavioral questions, technical questions and scenario-based discussions.** Great relationship internally -- all stories this week shared with staff members reaching out to me and then reporters relationship heading out because of this. Trusting relationship with Exec team, appreciate that I feel comfortable to come to them with ideas, they know I won\'t sewer them ever, so they trust me. Ability to look ahead down the road how decisions will affect us. I have always worked with other departments, members of the executive teams, and board members, and then I am used to team sports. 5. **Internal/external engagement:** As a public institution we have to be transparent. I think that my newsroom experience would come in handy here as a reporter you have to speak to all audiences complex topics. I will need to implement some strategies, but I pivoted from sports to education and I see another seamless pivot coming from education to healthcare. I would stay up to date on ministry trends and work on that. Google alerts, subscribe to health care publications. I take pride in fostering relationships with educators, pushing strategic partnerships that feel authentic, and identifying ways to avoid potential crises. I love finding opportunities to showcase the everyday efforts of those who contribute so much to our community. Even on challenging days, I find it deeply rewarding to share stories of people making a difference. It's important to me to highlight these moments of care, dedication, and impact, as they bring immense value to my work and life. I talk to people, build relationships, seek story ideas from newsletters, social media, school conferences, community partners, being out and about. 6. **Best practices for healthcare communications:** Best practices include being clear, inclusive and patient-centered. 7. **Be engaging, positive and professional.** For a **site visit** at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) for a **job opportunity**, here's what you should observe and consider: **1.
